Possible Endo!!!

Hi, I am having ultrasound next week as having pain abnormal bleeding, heavy periods. I have had pain in my pelvis, hips legs etc for couple of years now and gynaecologist believed it was endo but without laparoscopic investigation was not 100%, I am so anxious and worried all the time which makes me so fatigued. Has anyone else been in my situation.

I’ve had the ultrasound a few times, It’s nothing too uncomfortable, although it’s not the most reliable either. I had to have keyhole for diagnosis, although recently I read MRI scans are being trialled as a way of diagnosing

Morning sweet,

I have symptoms like you, minus the bleeding.

I had a transvaginal ultrasound 2 weeks ago to rule out other things but gynaecologist believes I have endo. (finally someone listened.... It's been 20 years).

Endo won't show on ultrasound (I did confirm this with the sonographer), MRI sometimes shows some of it but still won't reveal the true extent (there are ladies on here who have very different results from MRI and laparoscopy).

I'm currently on the waiting list for diagnostic laparoscopy - you should be too, no question about that.

If you have endo, it needs to be removed via excision, by a specialist, and you need to be offered hormonal treatment to slow/ prevent it from retuning.

Has your doctor not prescribed anything for the heavy bleeding? Tranexamic acid?

Unfortunately, anxiety often goes hand-in-hand with endo.

Thank you so lovely to just talk to women suffering with the same symptoms, reassuring and comforting.

Hopefully you get you laparoscopic investigation soon.

Always the catch 22 of a clear ultrasound 🎭! Well done, you got through it 🎊👍🏼!

I'm alright, thanks for asking - day 3 of period, so cramps are winding down, ready for my usual 3 - 4 day break in the month without any, before ovulation takes the baton 😖😅.

Still waiting for lap appointment... Having blood tests in the meantime to check for other things that might be adding to chronic & general joint pains & muscle aches.

Let us know when you have your next appointment xx
