Hello! After almost 2 years of waiting i am scheduled to have a laparoscopy to remove endo and adhesions on Thursday. I have adhesions on my bowel, so they are going to remove them. My endo specialist said it is gonna be quite a long surgery (3-4 hours) and there is a slight chance that I will get a temporary ileostomy. I am quite scared, and have an irrational fear of never waking up. Did any of you have this kind of surgery? How was your recovery time?

Laparoscopy and bowel involvement
Just wanted to wish you the best of luck for Thursday.I would imagine it's the main thing on your mind at the moment.
I'm waiting for a full hysterectomy and removal of bowel endo. I think I'm more concerned over the bowel side of surgery than anything else.
I can understand your fear, I've had two laps already and was quite frightened but please try not too worry to much, everyone is well trained and knows what there doing. You'll soon be waking up in recovery with a nurse by your side.
I hope you've got plenty of support emotionally and physically around you.
Take care

Thank you for these kind words! 🙂 everyone around me is saying that I should be happy because my pain is going to get better so I am currently trying to focus on the positive.
Good luck with op 🙂, it’s much less scary than you think it’s going to be.If you have an endo specialist they know what they are doing.
Let us know how you get on 🙂
Thank you for making me feel a little bit more relaxed 🙂 I hope this time Friday I will be posting here with good feelings
Hello! I had my laparoscopy on Thursday and according to my endo specialist they got it all out and there were no complications 🙂 I am now home and it is quite painful and I have some bleeding but I am not sure if I already got my period because I did not have it for 9 months. I hope I will recover soon because the whole hospital experience was a bit terrifying with all COVID rules.
Good news!Do you have stoma bag or you didn’t need it? My endo is attached to the bow and bladder. Waiting for another lap now with the specialist team.
