Best tips for pain management?

I'm in the process of being diagnosed with endo (waiting for lap date) but I wanted to know if there's anything I could be doing to manage my pain in the meantime? I dose myself up on paracetamol and ibuprofen but they don't work most of the time. Heat patches and hot water bottles also help, but does anyone have any recommends for other things I can try? I dread my period every month, sick of being in pain :( Thanks x x

Hello

Yes there's a few things you can try.

Tens machine, you can pick these up for around £20 from boots and amazon etc. They do take some getting used to as they send little electrical pulses so it can feel unusual.

Or all your pharmacy for advice on stronger pain killers. Such as naproxen, it's like a stronger version of ibuprofen don't need a prescription for it.

Also you could try cold patches instead of hot water bottles /patches. As Heat actually increases/stimulates inflammation and cold does the opposite.

I never used to use the patches, however my friend suffers with extreme endo and she swears by using BE YOU monthly patches. They sell them on Amazon, I’ve actually just ordered myself some but the reviews were fab also online! Every month is different for me sadly, wish I could get ready to get rid of the pain in one area ☹️

Hi, i have stage 4 endo all over my pelvic area and pain is sth I have to live on a daily basis. Magnesium at 6pm keeps me pain free over night and just recently discovered a weighted blanket where it helps me get the best night sleep ever and somehow has helped me with the other pains and aches all over the body. Reducing caffeine ( my true love) somehow has reduced a lot of pain as well. And my go to all the time is the beloved chiro to adjust my hips to make room on my pelvic area.

Hi Bespp, how much magnesium do you take? I've heard about using this for pain management and I am desperate to find other things that might work. Paracetamol, ibuprofen, hot water bottles just don't touch the sides 😫 x
