No period after laproscopy and Mirena coil fitted

Hi all,

Newbie here, I had a laproscopy in Sept 2020 to remove Endometrioma’s from both ovaries and adhesions from my tubes and pelvis. I had the mirena coil fitted during too. Whilst i have symptoms of a cycle... bloating, cramps, water retention, spotting etc.. i havent had an actual period bleed? My periods were very irregular before surgery? Does anyone have any similar experiences?

Hi there, congrats on your op! I had a mirena coil fitted back in 2018 and since then i haven't bled. Like you, I get all the symptoms, pain, bloating, sugar cravings, tiredness all of that, but I never bleed, I just get a brownish discharge from old blood etc, amenorrhea is pretty normal for the coil, hope this reassures!

Your not supposed to bleed on some coils
