Hello I had my first laparoscopy on Tuesday, and I am still experiencing alot of bleeding... When I woke up from surgery I was in a fairly large pool of blood, I soaked the 'puppy training pad' and a normal pad and the hospital bed sheets. I was told this was normal... It is now Friday night and I am still having heavy bleeding with clots... I am thinking maybe it triggered a period?
I also had a merina removed and I got told the surgeon had to 'hold my uterus' to get it out... What does that even mean???
Anyway I am having throbbing pains like a bad period? But also how do I know it's a period? I'm just so confused and my gp is so poop. (I'm also takin zapains so this amount of pain is worrying for the meds I'm on). I haven't had a 'normal' period without my merina for a good few years so maybe it's that?
I've had zero gas pain In chest or shoulder just abdomen pain...
Has anyone experienced this?
Thank you

Hi, I had blood after, not as much though, I can imagine this varies. Are the incisions ok? Not weepy or anything? Pain could be constipation, this part for me was the worst bit.
Maybe coil had got become slightly imbedded, make notes of anything you aren’t sure of for follow up. Your body has a huge amount to consider balancing again if you’ve had the coil for a long time.
Any doubts do speak to GP, maybe try 111 over the weekend. I was so lucky when I went to out of hours, I saw a GP who was also a gynaecologist.
You’ve already been through so much, there could be something they can do to ease it all. 🙂
Hello thank you for the reply, my incition are okay and look very healthy, I do have a double belly button stitch? Like deep in my belly button ans then deeper by about a centermetter. I've been eating many tinned prunes to stop Constapation I think it's working it feels very odd. I did think that about the coil but thought they would of told me afterwards, I am not sure if coil removal would trigger a period.I think calling 111 would be a good option to be sure, I am loosing blood still, heavier than I was having with my periods with a merina. As the merina lightened them so I'm thinking it's a period just seams odd. I am glad you managed to see a out of hours gynecologist that's really good! Thank you so much I shall call them xx
Removal of the mirena causes a withdrawal bleed type period. Mine was super scary heavy and draining. It must be a lot to deal with after surgery. I hope 111 gave you some help x
Thank you for commenting! Oh really I didn't know that!! It's stopped today luckily!! I have had 2 large bruises appear where my overies are (I don't have insitions near there) is that normal with a lap? Thank you xxx
You can get some bruising anywhere on your stomach afterwards. They are working through small incisions and sounds like they had a job to remove your mirena. I had a side incision as well though for mine. I remember asking why it was on the left when my endometriosis is on my right side and it's to get the angle to maneuver inside you so when you think about all they manage to do through those little cuts it's not surprising that you get the old bruise. I'm glad your bleeding has stopped. It took me three months to return to my normal amount of bleeding during a period so if your next few are rather heavy then don't be surprised to. It will pass. X
Hello thank you very much they have gone down a bit now but I am worried my belly button is infected. And oh that is exactly what happened to me! My endo wa son right side my incition on the left, that's good to know. And thank you I was worried an doh wow really? And okay thank you, I hope you are well xxx
If you're not getting anywhere with your GP. If it was me I would be taking myself to the local emergency hospital they are better qualified to diagnosis what is going on. I hope you get it sorted soon but after the perdecure you shouldn't be bleeding that heavy it's not normal. Go to the hospital you could be hemriding.
Thank you for your comment it is worrying now I am just having random spotting? I am glad it stopped bleed alot though, still having uturas cramps. I think I am okay but I will next time thanks x
