Hey does anyone have any stories to share where they had surgery, pain got worse or wasn't getting better for a couple months but eventually the pain did disappear or get better and you're in a better position now?
I'm just really afraid as I had lap done more than a month ago (about a month and a half) and after 2 weeks my pain started getting really really bad again. During my lap they cut away an omental adhesion to the abdominal wall and that was it. They didn't find any endo. now I wake up every day in pain and I'm suffering constipation and severe bloating and discomfort. I get aches randomly in random parts of my abdomen. My doc said it could be internal healing and to give it 3-4 months as sometimes it can take that long but I'm really scared as I feel like I may have an adhesion forming again I'm also very scared for my next period as I've just got a feeling it's gonna be bad. Before the lap I had pain but it Wasn’t 24:7 & now I feel like I cant get rid of it even as I’m sleeping it hurts and upon waking up
I also felt like the pain was easing off and dying down slightly about 2 months before I had the laparoscopy so I'm concerned as I feel I've done the wrong thing and that I'm gonna be stuck like this forever. Should I be worried?

Hey Amy. After my laparoscopy, it took my body probably upwards of two months to fully heal. I was taking mefenamic acid and other tablets every day. I had pre-empted this as I am generally not a good healer so I made sure I was well prepared with comforting things, heat and cold sources at all times including at work. I also got a TENS machine, which I would wear out and about. The combo of everything made those two months a lot easier.
I then had about 9 months or so of being on Zoladex, which I was very symptomatic with. I also had the coil in all through my journey before the laparoscopy. I decided after finishing the Zoladex (my decision) to have the coil taken out and I have been mostly pain free since then, other than recently, but that's been due to ovarian cysts I have been persistently getting, then them rupturing too quick before being able to get any medical support. So it's been a bumpy ride!
I personally wouldn't be worried for another few weeks as your doc is right - your body has taken on a traumatic surgery and therefore needs a while to recover. They could maybe do more and offer you something like Zoladex or more specialist pain meds etc in the meantime whole your body recovers? I would ask what other options are there to assist you at the moment.
Thanks for your response. So it took you over 2 months to feel internally better? I hope it’s just a case of giving it time for me too. They told me to just continue with paracetamol or nurofen as normal and because they didn’t find any endo they feel like birth control such as zoladex isn’t necessary. Also I’d been on BC for months before the lap and it didn’t go well for me 😫 While you were recovering what were your pain levels like? I keep getting pain around the bellybutton and the right side
Yeah so it took 2 months for me to feel better internally! Zoladex isn't BC but I assume if you didn't have any endo there, there would be no point them putting you on it.
Thank you I hope you’re right it’s such a strange feeling it feels like a really bad bug in the gut area on the right side but being unable to go to the toilet. Always getting strange niggles n twitches in the area all day too 😟😫
