Hi guys, I’m one day post op and now home on regular pain relief, switching between paracetamol or codine and ibprufen or menafanmic acid. My incision site through my belly button is causing so much pain and discomfort even with regular pain relief and have had to change the dressing twice due to more blood and being a bit smelly. It doesn’t look infected but am concerned as to how much pain I should be in. I know everyone is different but I’m unsure if this level pain is normal. Any tips or advice would be so muchly appreciated!

Hi, my belly button was the slowest to heal, it took a good month or so, whereas the other 3 healed quite quickly. I can’t comment on the smell as my husband tells me my belly button smells anyway!

Thank-you so much, made me feel lots better and mine has settled down a bit more now!
Glad to hear it’s settled down I’m 4 days post op and not sure if I’m meant to clean my belly button. Are we meant to leave it with the blood in?
