Lump next to belly button after laparoscopy?

Hi guys, i'm kind of freaking out a little so I wondered if anyone can tell me if this is normal or if yes I should be freaking out?!

I had my first laparoscopy on tuesday so almost a week ago, and so far I have recovered really well and am going back to work tomorrow everything feeling good. They found no endo so wasn't treated for that but did have a mirena coil inserted. Today I have found a small pea sized lump to the right of my belly button, and it's quite tender. Is this normal or is this a cause for concern?

Any advice is much appreciated!

I have that too, I have read some old posts and apparently its the glue under the skin. It should go, but if concerned go to your GP.

oh really? how long have you had yours? i feel like the whole area around my belly button is starting to get a little tender too. I have a friend who is a GP so have messaged them first to see if I should contact my actual GP.

I noticed it after I had my dressing removed and I have one under my other incision too x

Could also be a hernia or small hematoma- id pop to ur gp or surgeon so they can see it and feel it to be sure.

Hi bakequeen, just wondering how it went with that lump next to your belly button? I had a lapro 1 week ago and finding more pain around the belly button and now this weird lump which is tender. I feel fine in myself and belly button looks clear and clean too x

Hey, i had a few lumps appear around my stomach and belly button, they were really tender and painful which is why i was worrying because in general i had been feeling a lot better from the op, i went to the doctors and they said it was just painful scar tissue which would hopefully go down soon and become less painful but i think they weren’t exactly sure why it was so painful and how long it would last, they said to keep an eye on it and come back if it didn’t improve. Anyway luckily for me it did improve ( i can’t remember how long it took) let’s say a week/two? Soon enough the pain completely went and the lumps all went down back to normal, hope this helps you a bit, try not to worry but maybe get the gp to check it out just to be sure. Speedy recovery xx
