Hey guys, so I ended up in A&E yesterday with horrendous pain and a struggle to pass urine. Blood tests were done and showed no abnormalities, I needed to give a urine sample but couldn’t, I always feel like I need a wee but struggle to actually go. Doctor sent me home on really strong painkillers and said to come back if there was anymore pain. I went back this afternoon, hadn’t passed urine properly for about 13 hours, tried to do a sample, couldn’t, doctor then had no other option but to give me a catheter, urine came out slowly but I was so relieved! No abnormalities in urine. I’m home now but still in pain and on medication but I’m losing the will to live, all the doctors can say is “a bad case of endometriosis”. They’re pushing for my lap to be done ASAP but every month seems to feel like it’s getting worse, it’s an up hill battle!

How are you feeling today?

If Your GP isn’t prescribing medication that works for the pain, even a little, ask for referral to the pain clinic. At the very least they can ask the department for advice, which is sometimes quicker.

It’s incredibly tough waiting for a lap. Various tests, blood, urine, ultrasound didn’t show anything related to endo for me. You’ve had an initial diagnosis which is a step forward . If you can make short notice let them know and they may be able to add you to a cancellation list.

I hope you don’t have to wait long.

Hi there, thank you for responding.

I’m feeling slightly better today thank you, I’ve just got the nagging pain in my lower right abdomen. My GP has prescribed codeine so that does help a little. I know that they’re pushing for the lap to be done quickly but I’m just concerned because the pain has become constant, I spoke to them about my worries of it getting worse, they just keep telling me “take the painkillers and rest”. I understand that it’s out of their hands but I’ve still got to work and function as normal but I’ve noticed my energy levels have plummeted. My partner had to help me get dressed on Monday as I was in so much pain and fatigued I couldn’t do it myself.

Fingers crossed it won’t be long, it’s such a hard process and I am thankful for my doctors help, it’s just getting harder to remain positive. I just wish it would disappear!
