I’m now one week and two days post op and I was just wondering where everyone was up to at this time for them post op???
I had some endometriosis removed via excision.
Would be great to hear where others were/ are up to around same time as me now - especially mobility wise?? And just generally what things you are able to do/ aren’t!
Thanks ❤️

I’m not a good example as pain didn’t go and appetite kept going downhill. I spoke to GP and all he said you have to give it time. At follow up told the consultant, he wasn’t surprised and then told me it was deep.
I probably drove after around three weeks, mainly as I had to take the cat to the vets.
I'm 6 days post lap for severe endo, i know they cut out quite a bit, cos I was under for 3 hours. I was recovering ok the first 3 days, but then got this intense fatigue and brain fog, bit stressed about it now. But I don't have any pain anymore and in terms of mobility could probably do anything if I weren't so exhausted.
So i have officially hit one year of being endo free after having my first lap for stage 4.
By a week and half i was off pain relief, booked an appointment with gp and nurse, to check on my incision to see any signs of infection and give me the heads up of being able to have a shower.
By the end of week 2 I went back and saw my gp she looked at the incisions and used a alcohol cotton wool to check on the stitches they were by then already dried and dropped off.
I didnt really do much walking for 2 weeks nor lift anything apart from walking to my gp service down the road to me. I mainly walked in the house. I then returned to work on week 3 although everyone was a little worried about me doing that. But I did 2 hrs a day for 2 months then increased it to 4hrs. But on week 3 I can say it was really hard to drive, not so because the pain killers were making me feel tired but the belly button incision was the longest to heal
as the stitches were more tucked in. I run the special needs department at a primary school but my gp gave me a fit note to take into work so I could reduce and amend my duties.
I found it really hard to wear anything touching my belly button for at least 6 months. I did notice my hips and thigh gone wide, but i managed to lose it all once I got back into my jib role, I continued to drink peppermint tea to help with constipation sometimes taking pain relief for those odd pains gave me constipation.
Since August 2019 I have not had any flare up or pain in my incision areas all stitches fell off and have healed. small scar. in terms of mobility, my specialist recommended that I do not do any gym or rigorous exercise as incisions take a long time to heal internally than outside and also lifting heavy bags etc for at least 6months. But you will know your body when you know it can not handle the pressure. I did small pace walks and had physio to help me with lower back pains but other than that I am managing well.
If you want to ask any questions please do. I wish you ladies a fast and effective recovery.x
I had plenty of rest but made sure I went for a walk each day. The distance increased so by the end of week one it was about a mile on the flat. I didn’t lift anything for a while. Shopping was ok as long as I didn’t put a lot of items in bags or I just put the shopping loose in the car and someone else sorted it out when home whilst I had a sit down and a drink.
I have had two laps (3rd in 4 weeks to excise). By day 2, I was able to walk about the house for a bit, but was just exhausted after the GA. Took a good few weeks to feel like me again.
First time i drove after 4 days coz they told me i could, not my smartest move. 2nd time i waited 2 weeks.
Best advice, take pain killers, don't push yourself and don't do too much. Oh and don't stop the painkillers too early! Made that mistake too coz i felt good. 🙂
I'd listen to your body and how you feel, we all recover differently. I stayed in bed with only minimal movement for about 5 days because I was exhausted, worked from home after a week and then went on holiday after 13 days (I wouldn't recommend, the plane journey was so uncomfortable! I did enjoy the holiday though lol). My friend who has endo and has had 3 laparoscopies couldn't believe I was even able to do that so soon after surgery but overall I was fine, recovery depends on so many factors so it's important to go with what feels right to you and if anything doesn't feel right, call your GP, it's better to bother them and be reassured because the recovery can be really stressful and emotional. I really hope your recovery goes well and you get some relief from this awful illness
We are all so so different, i had wide excision surgery.
I was still struggling to sleep and rest and taking morphine for 2-3 weeks, really tired and feeling utterly drained. I think it took 4-5 weeks to be out and about, driving moving and doing just normal daily activities.
I’m now almost 3 months out, no more cramps, stabbing but my kidneys have flared up and UTI pains and lower back pain is hard going, so I’m going to my physio.
I also did 4 sessions of Accupuncture which was interesting as I always felt worse for two days after but then felt a small boost forward.
So I’m still having pain, using heat pads, some pain relief, but not for endo pains, for what I assume is post op recovery.
I’m also 45 but fairly fit and active, and I really do think age plays a big part in recovery.
