How to find the right Gynecologist for me?

I am having issues trying to find the right doctor for me that specialises in endometriosis. I want to go through the NHS but I have no clue where to start. Any tips and suggestions will be much appreciated.

Your GP would have to refer you for NHS. I’m not sure if you get a choice to begin with. If you have enough symptoms that your GP thinks endo, you should be able to ask for referral to a BSGE specialist centre.

I went private initially, hadn’t suspected endo, but he diagnosed it straight away. The lap was private in the end, but had a choice of that or NHS. The consultant can add you to their NHS list if they want to.

Look at the hospital website consultants and then search info on the net, you get a better overall picture.

Good luck 🙂

Have a private consultation with the person you want to be seen by then ask them to write to your g.p for a referral x

Also be sure to look for surgeons that do excision surgery, not ablation. Excision is the gold standard, and there are surgeons who do NHS and private excision bit they are few and far between.

As others have said find your BSEG center as ask to be referred.

If I’d had that advice it would of saved 3 years of my life thy my GP wasted referring me to a “have a go gyane” who I know under and had no experience in the condition but fancied herself as a surgeon.. I had a lucky escape.

My advice to you would be going to a private clinic. I know it will be a little expensive, but your life and feminine dignity are more important. At private clinics, there are usually more specialist in a specific field of medicine, so you could get more help. As I read from your post I saw that you have endometriosis, and it is saddening me. I also had it a couple of years ago, but I fully treated it at cameronmch.com/locations/ca.... Your options are to go to a private clinic and see if you can get any help there. I hope you will treat this malady. God bless you.
