Hi all
I wanted to hear your experience on endometriosis and whether yours has returned after having surgery?
If so how long after your first surgery did your symptoms occur, what did your doctor say and did you have a second laparoscopy?
Thanks!

Hello.
I’ve had a diagnostic lap which discovered stage 4 endo.
I then had 4 hour excision surgery and felt great afterwards but pain returned within months.
I had another diagnostic lap about 3.5 years later and endo had returned worse than before.
I then had another 6 hour excision surgery which removed left ovary and both Fallopian tubes 20 months ago.
Ive had daily nerve and bladder issues ever since that excision and now pain is back worse than before.
Currently having second chemical menopause which has helped with one element of pain.
Best wishes for your future treatments xxxx
Hi i was suprised after coming back from theatre and they said i had large amoints of endo.i was in pain after procedure however i had 6 months relief then the pain returned ive been referred back to the hospital.hope this helps
I’ve had 3 laps all within about 3-4 years. I don’t think with me it’s the amount of endo it’s the incompetence of the surgeon that each time doesn’t eliminate the endo.
Hi all, thanks for your reply’s! I’m stuck because I don’t know what to do.
I had an op in October 2019 in which they removed mild endo.
Shortly after my operation I developed a 7cm cyst, however after 2 months it went away by itself. From February-April, I had minimal pain, however throughout May and this month I have noticed my symptoms coming back; pain during sex, pain when going to the toilet and severe, nauseating pain around my period.
I’m wondering whether this is another cyst, but it feels more like my endometriosis pain??
I don’t know what to do, as I feel like my consultant won’t act on it as I only had surgery 8 months ago?
(Btw I had a BSGE surgeon and I also had the Kyleena coil fitted)
Hey. Sounds like you are really frustrated and in discomfort/pain. I can not give you any advice sadly but I can tell you endo does not disappear after surgery. I have had several surgeries and got some relief after each but in each case the endo came back. Sadly, as there is no cure for it, the surgeries are what they call conservative. They go in and remove as little as possible to try and conserve your fertility chances when young and when older(like me ), they try to remove as much as necessary but as little as possible to prevent endo growing back with a vengeance on the scarring surgery leaves behind. It is all about management and each case is different. Talk to your Dr and tell them what you feel is happening. It took me too long to be brave enough to stand my ground with Drs etc and even though I knew my own body I allowed them to fob me off until it became emergency scenarios in some cases. Please be brave, strong and respectfully stand up for yourself at the Drs. Pain is your bodies way of telling you something is not right. You are your best advocate, so express your concerns and ask for intervention. Good luck and take care of yourself.
