Sooooo...

Started the morning of the 28/02/20 excited and apprehensive for what was to come... my last laparoscopy was a rather smooth ride even after excision so I wasn’t overly nervous about recovery..... oh boy how naive I was!!

Excruciating pain from the second I woke up, couldn’t walk without crying, pain hasn’t eased but got worse to this day, my incision has gone really gross, had doctors today and now on antibiotics because I have an infection.... oh but that’s not the end of this oh so cheery tale, no.... the last 3 hours my pains have been getting progressively worse to the point I was doubled over on the sofa bed crying in pain... and then.... 30 minutes ago... I FLOODED AND STARTED MY BLOOMING PERIOD!!! WHY?!! Everywhere I look on google it says you probably won’t bleed until 4-6 weeks after laparoscopy with excision (had Endo all over both pelvic walls and cysts on ovaries) so why now 6 days after!?😣😫 my periods have always been awful, bleeding for 5 weeks straight, very heavy the whole way through (when I go to sleep I’d have to wear a tampon, use a pad, another pad underneath that one, underwear and towel and I would STILL bleed through to the mattress) but WHYYYYYY DOES THIS NEED TO HAPPEN NOWWW?!!!???!!!😫😫😫😫😣😣😣🙃😢🙃😢

**anyway rant is over now, sorry about that 🤦🏼‍♀️ and now to make a hot water bottle, triple up on maxi pads, neck back the opioid pain relief, cry a bit into my pillow and get some sleep**

💛💛💛

Hope your feeling a bit better this morning.

I bled various days after the lap, not huge amount. I was told it might happen. I haven’t had a period since, but they weren’t always regular anyway.

Infection maybe aggregating everything and antibiotics should start to clear things in the next couple of days.

Try to get rest and go very easy with everything

Thank you for your message, it was weird I woke up and the bleeding had seemed to die down a bit but it’s just come back full force within the last hour😣 I really hope it clears up soon.. thank you xx

Oh bless you, this all sounds utterly horrible, you poor thing. Sending you sympathy and virtual tea and cake. Hope someone is looking after you and giving you much needed TLC. Hope you feel better soon and your period is short lived xxx

Thank you for your kind words 😔 I have my mum looking after me who is doing great but also keeps down playing things which is beginning to aggravate me a little.. especially when all of a sudden I’ll get really bad cramps and she will say things like “oh it’s probably just trapped wind” or “you’ll be like a new person tomorrow” I know she is trying to make things more positive and reassure me but it doesn’t always help at times 😔 I’m just trying to rest but just feel like I’m in a sauna at the moment 🥵🥵🥵xx

Totally understand. I’m sure your Mum is just trying to keep your spirits up. But sometimes all you really want is someone to say ‘I’m sorry you’re in so much pain, that must be horrid for you, I’m here for you... ‘Hopefully you’ll start to feel better soon. Sending you lots of positive vibes, keep going my love xxx

That is exactly it, sometimes you just simply want a cuddle and someone to sympathise and just understand. None of the women in my family have ever suffered with their periods, my mums used to be over with in 3 days, no pains and even went through the menopause without noticing so I think it’s all very alien to her, but she’s doing her best and amazing at looking after me ☺️ thank you for your support, it means a lot 💛xxx

Anytime, feel free to message if you need some cheerleading. You’re entitled to it, you’re going through a really horrid time. Take care of yourself lovely, lots of rest xxx
