I had my 2nd laparoscopy this year, 3 weeks ago. I'm still in pain and actually my pains have intensified and I have a new pain since before this surgery. It all started over a year ago with a pulling inner thigh (that I can't stretch or lift) and a stabbing and throbbing internal pain (vagina/womb location). About 6 months ago a horrible hip pain also started and I felt even more debilitated since. This is all left-sided, which is where they found endo on uterosacral ligaments and pelvic side wall; as well as my left ovary being stuck to the ovarian fossa and my bowel partially stuck too. All this endo was successfully 'excised' 3 weeks ago. However my pains have got worse since the operation. After this operation I actually have a new pain to add to this list: a groin pain. Everything is left-sided and all endo was removed. But why am I still in so much pain? I'm very worried, anxious and sad. I can't sleep at night from the pain and the worries. I have never been feeling so anxious in my whole life. I suppose I'm just looking for someone who has suffered or still does suffer from these same pains and what did they do for them and if they think it was related to endo on uterosacral ligaments; and also would like to know how long did it take for you to fully recover and heal properly from the excision of endo on USL.
Is this pain 'normal' 3 weeks after successful excision of endo? I hope someone can put my mind at rest. I'm seriously struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm terrified that my nerves have been damaged by endo and that now this is the way it is!

Hi, I have very much the same pains and struggle walking far as my left leg would start swinging across to my right side because of the pains. I had my lap last month and have severe endo with my bowel stuck to other organs, am still waiting for follow up surgery to have it all removed. Although i cant answer your question I would also be interested to hear about other womans experiences with hip pains after endo removal.
As my issue with my hip wasnt diganosed as endo until last month i did have a steriod hip injection back in April from a hip specialist and that did actually help temporarily with alot of the pains, wonder if anyone else has been given steriod injections to help with pains?
thanks for your reply. I was referred for an MRI by my GP last week. So I'm waiting for the app. mid February. If it's anything to do with nerve post laparoscopy I guess it should come up...?! I hope I can sort this. But the pain is still there sadly... and sometimes it's worse. The GP did mention injections in case. Are you also still in pain? xxx
So I had a second lap almost a month ago and they excised from my right ovary which was always hurting, now I've got hip pain on that side that is new and horrible, I've always got hot water bottles, gyno appointment only after three months so waiting to see if improves but I'm not hopeful. On a progesterone only pill now too and don't know what affect that may have if any, sick of constant pain
I'm so sorry to hear you are in so much pain Likewise. Sadly the hip pain hasn't gone... yet. Waiting for an MRI and hope they can find the cause and sort it out. I might need to get a steroid injection but we don't know if it will help. I definitely believe it's a consequence of the surgery on that side.. it's probably due to the nature of the surgery and all the nerves involved. What I don't understand is how can specialists in Endometriosis (as my BSGE Gynaechologist) have NO idea that this pain is connected to the laparoscopy in those areas?! I'm very puzzled!! And a lot angry to be honest. My specialist keeps saying that he would never expect that a laparoscopy for endo or endo per se would cause issues with walking cos of the hip or leg etc. I was not impressed to be honest.
I hope your pain ease up. Please keep in touch as it's so important to know that we are not alone with the same pains.. and I would really like to know what people did to sort it out.
Hey girls, why don’t you guys check out Nancy Nook endometriosis education. One of the lady just mentioned and I joined the group and it had wealth of knowledge. I promise non of you will be disappointed. When signing they ask theee questions and we are not allowed to ask questions for the first week. We have to explore to understand.
It mentions about the hormone injection too. I hope this helps you. Some of us may not have been lucky but I making sure all of you can have the right info.
