Just seen my consultant (for my 1 year post op). I’ve had 2 laparoscopies now. When seeing my consultant a GP was there (for part of her training) said that I should look into FODMAP, as restricting some foods could help relief my symptoms. Never heard of this before?! Is this true?? Any tips, advice and any other information would be great! 😊

Does changing your diet help relief pain??
Hello, I’ve tried cutting out and adding things so many times before and I never found it changed much for me but everyone is different and I would say it’s definitely worth a go as I know that for some people it does make a difference 😊
Ketogenic diet really works for me, might not help everyone but I’ve personally felt the best I have in years. Basically having below 20 g of total carbs per day and lots of healthy fats. I’ve got stage 4 endo and had a surgery in September.
I am vegan, and found cutting dairy from my diet helped. I have issues with my stomach (I had a resection for endo and apparently have microscopic colitis) so if I eat bad food - fried, high fat, processed I feel a lot worse. Also, if I have caffeine. I try to stick to healthier diet but can't kick the coffee lol.

I went vegan for a month and cut down on gluten too, it nearly eliminated my pain. But it wasn't sustainable in the end for me, I couldn't cut out so many good groups.
But everyone is different. I've heard that alcohol, gluten and dairy are inflammatories and can make endo worse.
I follow a low-fodmap diet because I had bloating that made me look pregnant. When I stick to the diet, I don't get any bloating, so I don't have that pressure causing more pain. However, I wouldn't say it relieves any other endo pain.
