What are people’s experiences with menstrual cups and period pants?
Any recommendations for comfort, ease of use and size guidelines?
Looking for pants I can use for brown discharge/spotting outside of period. Considering this as more environmentally friendly and looking for more comfort that the plasticity feel of pads.
Anyone with endo tried a menstrual cup? Period can be heavy, thick and contain some clots and wondering if this is an option.

I use modibodi period underwear. They do various styles and in student flows so you can get what suits you best. I've found them true to size, they also have a return policy so that when you buy your first pair and wear them they are refundable which helps you know you can get the right size. Normally returns are only on unworn pairs.
I use cups and cloth pads. There are some really useful YouTube videos by Precious Star Pads (a young lady in UK) about different types of cups, choosing the right size and firmness for your body type. I've tried a few different makes but my favourite is the Lunette. I tend to use a back up liner (cloth) with my cup though you could use period pants instead 😊. The cups have a bigger capacity than a towel or tampon and can handle a thick clotty period.
Before I couldn’t insert anything inside me, and no longer had periods, I used OrganiCup and I can 100% say that it is amazing. I didn’t have to change tampons and pads constantly and the removal of it wasn’t ridiculously painful because it didn’t dry everything up down there.
I’ve also heard good things about the menstrual cup by BeYou Period. I use their patches and they are brilliant.
I could never go back to tampons and would recommend the cup to many women - it helps that it saves money too!
I also no use modibodi underwear and love them - I could never go back to plastic pads now!
They are a little expensive to start with but are said to last around 2 years if you look after them well ☺️ Lots of choice for different flow and styles too!
I started using a Moon Cup a year ago, and recommend it. I tend to use mine on the first 3 days of a period. I'm an active person so it works well for me for swimming, dance and the like, especially if you're expecting a period and can't wear a tampon in anticipation. I know some dancers/swimmers do and it's not safe.
In the months leading up to my surgery I started to have some problems with positioning the Moon Cup, and as it happens it was because my pelvic and rectal anatomy was distorted because of various bits sticking to each other.
I find it's useful to have access to an en suite bathroom to empty the cup and rinse it out.
I've also used Lunapads cloth pads, and a variety of different cloth pads, some of which have liners. They're really handy. You just soak them in cold, salty water and then put them in the washing machine.
