Anything I can take for mood problems? Feeling in despair and depressed.

Hi, I have 8 to 10 days a month where I cannot stop crying, cannot get out of bed and feel in utter despair and depression. I have endo had a lap 7 months ago to confirm and cut out. I am currently not taking anything for it, no hormones or anything.

Does anyone have anything that would help with the mood issues? I am losing jobs from this as I cannot cope with crying at work or even getting up.

Any supplements or meds or any advice please?

Thanks

Sarah

Hi lovely, so sorry to hear you're feeling this way. If you're not trying to conceive, try St John's wort which is known to help with low mood, I've tried it and it has worked. I've also tried reflexology twice a month which helps to ground me. I hope this helps.x

The key here is to try and up your mood through the chemicals in your brain do things what make you happy take a walk fresh air is good and always helps me dance on your own or practice some kind of yoga I really do recommend things like swimming too although I’m yet to try this try take time out from social media

Vitamin b6 can help with hormonal depression/crying I would take 50mg from the last 10-14 days of your cycle (if that's your bad time)and get your vitamin D checked because it's linked to your seratonin production which helps how well you cope with things. My friend takes something called 5htp for her depression. It's natural from seeds I think. We both use Nature's Best UK for vitamins. They have an online library of articles on conditions etc and you can email a nutrition adviser who can reply with suggestions of suitable things that work together. There is no pressure to buy afterwards. You might want to check that out. Hope you find something that helps.

Magnesium Chelate, also called trilycenate, can help with mood, tiredness, an extra vitamin D supplement will help you and also boost your immune system, you should check your iron levels. I take Rhodiola (anxiety/strrss) as St John's Wort has side effects and also increases blood pressure, whereas Rhodiola decreases it. Evening Primrose or Effamol is also good to help rebalance hormones. This is what I take because I react to anti depressants. Stopping caffeine also made a major difference. I can still get a bit low, but the Rhodiola levels me out. It's a tough condition. Hope you find what works for you. 😊
