Zoladex and blood pressure

Hi Ladies. I had my first zoladex injection 3 weeks ago and so far no side effects but severe headaches. I took my blood pressure last night as was worried that that is what’s causing the headaches and it’s high. I never have high blood pressure. Has anyone else on zoladex had blood pressure problems on it. I’m going to ring dr first thing to ask them to check it as I’m aware a home monitoring kit isn’t that reliable xx

Hi yes I was on zoladex and hrt for 4 month same thing head aches high BP. I had 24hr bp monitor and ended up having to stop the treatment and now on bp Med. they want me to re start and to try oestrogen patches along side, but I am not keen.

Thank you so much. I’ve never had high bp in my life so it must be the zoladex . Thou my own monitor might just be crap lol. I’m waiting for the Dr to ring me back xxxx

Hello Sally369,

Blood pressure changes are a known side effect of Zoladex treatment and you should definitely speak to your GP / prescribing specialist about your symptoms so that they can ensure they are monitoring them appropriately and also correctly managing / treating them.

Have you read the Manufacturer’s Summary of Product Characteristics for Zoladex (the SmPc leaflet)? It is a more detailed version of the patient leaflet printed in the prescribed pack and you can find it online here:

It may be worth taking a copy along if you see your GP.
