Prostap and blood pressure

Hi Everyone

Just looking for some advice. I have just had my third prostap, things going well except joint pain, so asked for the Tibolone and started taking that four days ago. When I went for my prostap injection on Friday I asked for my blood pressure to be checked - - as not had it done for years. It’s really high 150/100. Not sure if I’ve had it for some time or if it’s heightened from the injection. GP has told my to check it at home everyday then go back in two weeks. I’ve since read I should have had it checked before the first injection, to get a baseline, as prostap can cause an increase in BP. I’m scared. I think I won’t go for anymore prostap injections now and just wait until this one wears off. I don’t know whether to keep taking the Tibolone. I’m annoyed this wasn’t checked prior to my first injection I had no idea it should have happened until now.😭

Hi I am on Decepeptyl and I now have high BP 😢also on HRT. Not sure if this injection has caused it but I was given a BP monitor at home by the GP to record my readings for a week and looking at it, it shows high BP on some readings. It’s one thing after another isn’t it?

I was never checked like you before I started having the injections.

I wonder what they will give us for BP?

X

Thank you for responding! I suppose all they can do is give us blood pressure tablets, I really don’t want to be on any more medication. If prostap is making my blood pressure higher or causing it, then I don’t think I’ll continue with it as I don’t feel it is worth it, which is a shame as it seems to be working well for me so far. But then again it might have been high long before I had my first one. It’s so confusing!

I know, I am on heaps of medication too. I won’t be having my 7th decepeptyl injection. It works for symptoms but I have had some dark days mentally and never had this before. Does your injection make you bloated? X

Yes! Some days I look heavily pregnant but I suffered with this sometimes anyway because of the endo. I’mSo disappointed about this whole BP thing as it was going so well. I could put up with the bloating as I’ve had no pain and no pmdd symptoms. I just feel terrified about having high blood pressure. Big 🤗

Hi, I know this is an old post but I came searching for anyone else who has had problems with BP while on Prostap. I've been on it for 9 months in preparation for my op, which was supposed to be in 2 days time but is now cancelled as my BP was high. I've never had high BP ever, its always been low so I can only guess that it's the injections that caused it as nothing else has changed. I'm quite angry right now as I didn't want the injections having previously tried them for 2 months, 2 years ago and they gave me terrible headaches. I am now praying that it will come down on its own as I don't want more medication 😫

Hi,

I know that this is an old post but i am currently going through the exact same thing. I have been trying to get my normal medication for the past couple of week but my BP had been 157/ 104 if not higher. I have now had a BP machine on my arm for 24 hours and the results of this said that the average was 159/100. I have always had a BP of around 126/83. I started Prostap in August after 3 surgeries and being in pain again. I went to discuss a hysterectomy but the consultant said to try this first as that way she would know whether the pain was Endometriosis and Adenomyosis related or whether it was scar tissue from previous surgeries. I am only them for 12 months. i should have been having them monthly but they could only get the 3 monthly dose so now they are every 12 weeks. I am also takin Tibolone alongside the injections and now have been referred for my BP. I don't fit any of the categories that cause high blood pressure so it must be down to the injections. To top it off the GP has also said that i might be allergic to some part of it so every time i have to have the injection i know need to take antihistamines as the first time my arm was so swollen i couldn't move it for 2 weeks and this time i opted for my stomach and now have an all over body rash which they think is a reaction. Can't win can we lol!! Fingers crossed you are now sorted with you BP. What did they do for you in the end if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks
