High blood pressure and headaches on zodalex

Hi just wanted to know if anyone else has had high blood pressure and constant headaches while on zodalex? Had 3 injections so far so on medication to bring bp down.

Seen consultant tonight and he want the BP to come down before I have another injection and have 3 more before I see him again to arranged surgery.

Never occurred to me that Zoladex caused it. Mine was high last year, reduced with CPAP, but went up again after starting Zoladex and back on med. now it’s gone down again having stopped 7/8 weeks ago.

No problem I’m hoping mine comes down so got to chase gp now to get it under control just can’t wait to come off these injections and get the surgery.

Hysterectomy now and checked/excise endo. Endo isn’t the only reason, have fibroids, not sure how many, just numerous 🙄😂

I’d recommend doing BP at home, mine always goes up at surgery etc., I’ve had to do a week at home to get an average. I’ll stick with meds for another month, then see about coming off them again. Good luck 🤞

Why are you on zoladex before surgery? In severe cases involving endometriomas it is suggested for 3 months between the first surgery and the main excision but there is no other reason. And even then if it is adversely affecting your general health it might be better to consider coming off the zoladex. Headaches are not listed as a symptom of zoladex and high blood pressure is under 'warnings' before taking it. So as you have developed high blood pressure with it I should think it should be stopped. Also, although very rarely, it can cause problems with the pituitary gland (which it acts on) and headaches can be a symptom.

Zoladex is not going to make any difference to the outcome of surgery so I would research well and consider the negative effects it is having before taking more. ESHRE 2.5:

'Clinicians should not prescribe preoperative hormonal treatment to improve the outcome of surgery for pain in women with endometriosis

(Furness, et al., 2004).'

I’m on zodalex as had many flare ups during lockdown and so far this has helped with my symptoms, the only issue I’m having is headaches and now high blood pressure, this won’t be my first surgery and I trust my gyne consultant as he is an endo specialist ☺️ I’m speaking with him and my GP to get my bp under control and headaches they are saying this can be caused by zodalex and high bp.
