I’ve just been diagnosed with endo. Two endometrioma cysts on each ovary and adhesions which have attach my bowel to the back of my womb. I am waiting on a date for my surgery to remove the cysts and hopefully detach my bowel. I was advised by my GP back in August to reduce my workouts, I love heavy lifting and intense hit workouts and was instead prescribed yoga. My workout regime has gone from 5-6 days Week to zero, grabbing a yoga class as and when. I used exercise to support my mental health which is really now at breaking point. I have my GP tomorrow to discuss but I just wanted to get some advice on what you guys do exercise wise? I miss my lifting and the lack of training has really affected my mental health, confidence and sense of identity, yoga is fine but it’s just not giving me that boost I need. X

I believe this was advised because the cysts could burst you could try meditation going on scenic walks etc but nothing strenuous as your cysts could rupture
Hey, heavy lifting could probably cause your cysts to rupture as Afrohair says, that's possibly why you've been advised to reduce those types of work outs.
I can suggest what I do, but I'd check with your GP as to whether it's okay; I checked with my specialist if I could carry on. I do core fitness exercises, with handstands and gym rings, so it's focused more on bodyweight training. I love my pole fitness - it's a great confidence booster, makes me realise how strong I am, and great people to mix with. There's quite a lot on the pros of pole fitness helping people with chronic conditions (not to be confused with pole dancing - there are classes for that separately). I also do yoga and flexibility classes as my hips are really tight due to the endo and two laparoscopies.
I get what you mean about sense of identity and mental health; I felt like that when I was recovering from my laps and couldn't do exercise.
Thanks for the replies guys. I landed in hospital in July due to a ruptured cyst and that’s what’s resulted in where I am now. Just getting a bit bored and frustrated that I can’t do the things I love, but fingers crossed my op will be soon and I can get training again. Xx
