Hello lovely people! Has anyone here experienced pain during early pregnancy relating to endometriosis?
I was diagnosed around 5 years ago through a laparoscopy which removed as many adhesions as possible and categorised me as moderate Endo - as with many, my symptoms have returned and worsened.
Having recently found out I am pregnant (yippee!), I was assuming I would now have 9 months of respite from the pain. However, I have been getting bouts of SEVERE abdominal pain, lasting around an hour at a time. Have had emergency ultrasounds and all seems to be fine....The suggestion is that the pain is due to an abdomen full of scar tissue that is not enjoying being stretched.
There is little to no information out there about this so I just wondered if anyone has experienced this? How did you manage the pain? Pleased help!

Hi. I’m in a very similar situation to you! And interested in what others have to say also. I’m now 27 weeks and I’ve had bad pain in my right lower side and a general very heavy feeling in my uterus/ bladder for the past two weeks. I’m currently off work as more than a short walk increases my pain. My GP feels it’s likely scar tissue or endo that was present before I was pregnant. My gynae has discharged me (he said come back once you’ve had the baby!Very helpful!. It doesn’t seem like there’s much that can be done?
Thanks for your reply! And I’m so sorry that you feel that way - I really can sympathise! Did you experience pain early on too? My ‘specialist’ brings me to tears with his lack of engagement with me so I haven’t even consulted him about this pain yet. I am accepting that this is probably scar tissue and ligaments stretching, but what’s the solution other than crying my way through 9months! So far it’s just been recommended to take paracetamol or codeine which I cannot accept. I find super hot water bottle directly helps a little. But I can find little to no information about tens machines/acupuncture/physio/massage or any other pain management tips that are safe and or helpful!
Thanks for your words! Unfortunately wasn’t treated in special centre - I was treated in Australia whilst living there briefly and travel insurance paid. Since returning to the UK my ‘specialist’ is hands off unless I want opioids or more surgery (many tears shed over that). I have just dug out my notes from surgery and it does advise that a number of adhesions were on the uterosacral ligament (mostly on the right). So thank you for that input, a little more information is always helpful! I’ll try contacting a specialist Endo centre and ask their advice - I didn’t realise we had these to be honest! Thanks again!
