How long should I give nexplanon

I got Nexplanon about 5 weeks ago. I was having horrendous post period pain when tri-cycling my combined pill (marvelon) which lasted about a week and left me crying when I tried to pee, so I was pretty miserable. My endo specialist said I need a progesterone only form of contraception (not the mini pill as it's not strong enough). She advised the injection but my GP refused and gave me the impant as it doesn't weaken your bones.

Since coming off the pill a week after the insertion, I have had cramps most days, horrendous mood swings leaving me screaming or crying several times a day, my skin is back to it's 15 year old low and my scalp is really spotty and my hair is so greasy. I basically feel like I'm going through puberty again at age 30. I also had the longest, most painful period I've had for 10 years. It stopped after two weeks but I'm scared this will be monthly.

I've booked to have it removed next Thursday but want to know if I might be jumping the gun, has anyone had these side effects die down?

I have the injection and take supplements to help my bones, so you could always ask to do that if you end up switching.

It could be worth asking how long it has to be in for before they will remove it. I thought it was 6ish months for it to settle?

The hormone release is slow. Doesnt usually cause so dramatic effects. Might be an idea to wait for at lease 3 months before taking a decision.
