Hi guys,
I'm just wondering if anyone has taken cerazette (progestogen-only pill) to stop their periods and, if so, what are your experiences? I am considering it, but I've heard some horror stories.
Thanks

Hi there!
I have tried out 11 different pills and I can safely say that it took me a while to get used to Cerazette as a new pill. I had Endo whilst changing over to that pill so it took my body a while to adjust - for me it has been a god send (at times) however sometimes usually every 3-6 months I do notice that I tend to get pain which feels like period pain - the pain feels so harsh when it comes on and lasts for about a few days... I have had experiences where I did have irregular periods however that may be because my body was getting used to the pill, especially after having a Lap!
Cerazette hasn't stopped my periods (have been taking it for 1yr+) but I've stuck with it because I prefer it to Cerelle (which also didn't stop them!). Periods tends to come every 5 to 6 weeks for me and are a lot lighter than when I didn't take the pill. I do also get light period pain but nothing compared to my pre-lap period pain.
Hi, I have taken cerazette. I find none stop break through bleeds or my problems with cists or endometriosis.
They make it easier to live with these problems as lighter and longer between needing to see a specialist.
I can only take progesterone only pills now due to getting migraines. If I didn't get migraines I'd still be on, the only thing that helped me for years before, Evra patches.x
I've been taking Cerazette for just over a year now and (fingers crossed) it seems to be doing the job. My only negative experience is almost constant spotting. But it's a small price to pay if it's keeping the endo away!
Thank you for the replies! I think I'm going to give it a go; if there is a possibility of it making my periods easier, it's worth a shot.
4 years on it... at the start it worked like a treat! Honestly!... but don’t rely on it... it can turn nasty very quickly! VERY heavy bleeding and LOTS of pain! I would resort to other options first or speak to someone about it before coming to that conclusion!
