So I finally have my date for the 7th November , I am beyond nervous- for the op itself but also in case they don’t find anything. It’s also quite close in to uni and I don’t know how much time I’m expected to take off etc . Just feeling a bit stressed about it all.
Hope you ladies are all ok xx

Hey, it took me a week to recover, I’m still a little tired but I can go back to my daily routine now. The first couple of days are rough as the drugs will be wearing off but every person is different so recover times vary on what they do etc. Xx
I had my lap done on Tuesday, I had endo diagnosed and treated. They also noted that my bowels are stuck to my pelvis and ovaries. I’m slowly but surely starting to get back to my normal self. Please remember that even if nothing is found, this is very common amongst women going in for diagnostic laparoscopy. 50% of women going in for the lap do not have anything diagnosed. This does not mean that your pain is not real, nor does it mean it’s in your head. You just keep pushing for answers, take each day as it comes and keep your chin up.
Thankyou so much . I’m glad that you’re beginning to recover and feel better. Thankyou I think it’s just because I’ve been put down my teachers/friends/doctors just thinking I’m making it up that I wen begin to doubt myself!!!!! I know I’ll just need to continue pushing , just frustrating sometimes. Thanks again for replying xxx
Hey Lucy, first of all I’m in the same boat as you minus the uni scenario. 😊 you’re not on you’re own okay. Secondly, stressing about any of it won’t do you any good, the calmer you are the better.. we’re naturally gonna be nervous on the day because it’s the biggest thing at that moment going on in our lives, but we need to remind ourselves, we’re doing this to get an answer, good or bad.. and finding nothing, IS an answer, it reassures us that it’s nothing sinister, so if this is case we’ll be sent down another route of investigation.. we’ll have narrowed down some answers. ( you might not agree with any of this, but this is how I’m thinking and if You can take just an ounce of comfort from any of it, then that’s good enough for me).
My lap is on the 28th of this month, so I haven’t got much longer to wait..
I had a laparoscopy about 6 years ago for suspected appendicitis, and although the recovery was rough, I did everything at my own pace. Remember, this might only be a day case, but it’s quite invasive surgery, and we need to take it easy for the best recovery! don’t worry about uni, your health comes first..
if you want to chat, you know where I am. Keep smiling. Xx
Thankyou so much Joanna . It’s nice to feel supported and like you’re not alone as it can be very isolating !!!! I completely understand what you’re saying and I suppose I just need to have an open mind . I hope your op goes ok and you start to feel better really soon xxxx
Hi! I had my first lap last November, it really is a minor procedure I promise! I was also really confused/worried about recovery times, I had a business meeting to go to abroad around a week after and couldn't decide what to do. I didn't go in the end ....in theory I could have done it but glad I didn't, I was drowsy and tired from all the painkillers but everything else OK.
