URGENT!!! can someone please help!?

Hello my name is Ruby I’m 19 I’ve been suffering with endo since I’ve been 13 and have already had a surgery. I’m due to have my next surgery in less than 2 weeks where I’m having the Marina Coil fitted too. Since then in the past 2 weeks I have become so depressed. My pains get worse everyday I’ve even started to change my diet, I’m doing what I can do get rid of the pain, no painkillers work even if I take strong wrongs that’s have been prescribed for me. I had a mental breakdown last night in front of my boyfriend and I felt like life wasn’t worth living anymore, I have never felt like that but I can’t stop crying and I just feel so sad. On top of that I have got a sickness bug as a well as my pains and they are so bad, at the moment it feels like someone is cutting open my belly. If someone could just give me a bit of advice or if anyone has gone through the same mental state as what I’m going through now, I would really appreciate it if you could give me your advice because I am feeling really alone at the moment and want to talk to someone who is suffering what I am suffering. Thank you

Oh bless your heart. I completely understand I had my first lap at 17 and currently waiting for my third lap, 5 years later. I 100% have been (and sometimes still am) in your shoes. I believe this condition really tests your mental strength more than physical.

What I would recommend is seeing GP urgently for stronger painkillers, I was on tramadol which helped me. If you have a job or school, ask for some time off for yourself. Are you on any hormone medication?

I am currently really suffering like you are right now so I understand. Its about listening to your body and doing what is best for YOU. Ignore everyone else for one moment and understand what you need.

Try and find a support group near you, also call the Endometriosis UK helpline, they are amazing!

You are so much stronger than you think, please believe me on that. If you want to talk I am here (can privately message me), we are all here for you.

Best wishes xxx

Thanks so much, yeah I’m not on any hormone medication atm except from the combined contraceptive pill.

That’s exactly what my mum told me to just think about what’s best for me so I have taken a week off work to relax.

Thank you so much and yeah it helps a lot when I talk to people who are suffering what I am going through because I know I’m not the only one, I hope you are able to get rid of your pains too and I wish you all the best xxxxx

Oh bless you :( hi ruby I’m really sorry to hear how you are feeling but please do not feel alone as there’s so many here that understand and although don’t probably live local wedo understand.

I had pains before I had a coil fitted and I can honestly say I lost all those pains after I had the coil.

My reason for the coil was due to heavy bleeding more than the pain.

Mine was fitted under general anaesthetic and it was about 30 minute procedure.

I had over 2 1/2 years pain free but I have s large fibroid that pushed the coil almost out which meant I had to have it removed.

I’ve been on contraception pills since (1 month) and the pains started again within a week of taking them.

Re the pain do you feel bloated with pain in your tummy?

I find that charcoal tablets bought from Holland and Barrett help with the bloated pain feeling.

I also have a electric heat pad which I’ve had for years and that does help ease the pain as it’s light so won’t squash your tummy or you can lie on it if it’s lower back pain. With it being electric it keeps the heat constant so really helps.

I’m sure your boyfriend feels a bit helpless as they don’t really understand, are you able to talk to your mum about this just for a bit of support.

Are you on a contraceptive pill at the moment? The one they gave put me on the specialist says is making the endo worse so I’ve had to stop taking it it was cerelle.

Try and keep as calm as you can which I know is easy said than done as I’m on day 21 of heavy bleeding and in pain but I think the stress that goes with this is going to make you feel more uptight and that will have a knock on effect with your body.

You are almost there two more weeks until you can hopefully put these pains to bed and move on with your life.

If you want to ask anything feel free to message me :) x

It is the worst, most isolating feeling in the world but this is not forever and you have so many people who know what you’re going through. I trialed a drug called Synarel. It is a nasal spray that (temporarily) stops the functioning of your ovaries - therefore stops your periods. I was on that for 6 months and it gave me some real pain free times which id not had for a while! I’m unsure where you’ll stand if you are currently waiting for a lap but I seriously would recommend enquiring with your Gynae xx

Hi Ruby, I feel for you.. Im so sorry you are going through this. And your so young to be dealing with it. I have stage 4 everywhere and its not been easy but i have had 3 procedures and they have helped. Its so nice to have support on here. I had it affecting my life so much I recently did 6 months of zoladex. It was so so good to have a break mentally and physically. I also quit my job to take care of me. On Zoladex I also had the opportunity to have a break from taking so many pain prescription drugs.

Please let me know how the coil goes for you. I also agree about the electric heatpad.

Just wanted to reply saying I understand exactly how you feel, we’re only human and being in constant severe pain for weeks at a time can be soul destroying. I can’t take any anti inflammatories and my doctor is happy to prescribe tramadol which I take as and when (it really is the only drug that helps the pain for my pelvic problems). I’m due camera and swabs in a month and gynae wants to fit the merina coil but I’ve realised I can’t have that because I don’t respond well to Desogestrel which contains the same hormone. You’re not alone, please ask your doc for a stronger pain relief - I took naproxen before it gave me stomach problems but tbh it didn’t ever do much for my pelvic pain. Hope you get sorted soon x
