Sickness post lap

Hi all

I had my laprascopy a week ago where the surgeon found quite a bit of endometriosis and used excision to remove it.

First few days I was in pain but by day 4 I was feeling better and walking around etc. The doc recommended I started the pill which I did on day 4 and since I have felt so poorly. Pain in my stomach and feeling so sick it makes me wretch

Has anyone else experienced this post lap? Not sure whether the pill or just moved around too quick after the op?

Hi,

I remember I felt very sickly after starting on the pill last year. I ended up stopping it. I had a lap on Wednesday and had endo exercised and the consultant has given me a new pill to try. I’m dreading it and can’t decide whether to take it now or wait a few weeks. Are you in any pain in the areas where you have had the endo removed from? Hope you are feeling better soon x

Hi

Thanks for your reply! Yeh I was in quite a bit of pain but has eased a bit now - just feeling really sick. Hope you’re recovering well 😊

I know I have to take something to regulate the hormones just making me feel so rubbish and obviously I’m still recovering from the surgery. Just wondering whether it would be the pill after only a couple of days? How long did you try your pill out for before giving up on it?

I managed it for 6 weeks and then stopped it. I should have gone to try another type but I couldn’t manage with any more side effects from hormones. I’m dreading taking this one. Which one have you been given? If you do go and see the GP then they will tell you that it takes a while for all of the hormones to settle down. Have you tried the coil? I’ve also had that and the side effects were awful too but I know it really works for some people. I’ve never been good with hormones though. Have you been told to take it for 3 months, have a weeks break and then take for another 3 months? That’s what I’ve been told to do and then go and see the consultant. Can’t decide whether to just start now or wait a few weeks. I remember with the last pill I did start feeling sick within a few days of taking it. X

Hi,

It took me 2 weeks to fully recover from endometriosis surgery, it was extremely painful for me. I wouldn’t have have started the pill just yet, important to let your stomach and body heal after the operation before you start taking the pill, your internal organs are also healing and your body is low from surgery.

If your experiencing pain it would be best to contact you Dr, I think it’s normal to experience pain when first starting the pill
