Hot flushes post-lap

Hello lovelies!

Has anyone have like hot flushes or a slight fever after their laparoscopy?

It's my third day after the surgery and I'm a little bit worried.

I had a bit like that, I think it's to do with getting rid of the anaesthetic and healing.

If you can, take your temp, and keep an eye on your incisions, for any redness, really sore. If it's infection you're worried about you'll feel worse quickly rather than just stay about the same.

I had my lap on the hottest day of the year last year and my body just didn't know what to do!

If you're worried though give your GP a call or your specialist, as they'll be able to advise or may have same day / emergency appointments - if not that then try your walk in center or NHS 111; they can book emergency appointments which saves you waiting.

Hope it's just random and it goes away xx

Hi Farah and thanks for your reply.

I will keep an eye on my incisions and take my temperature on a regular basis. Gonna call the hospital for sure if things got worse (I hope not)

I’ve had a few laps and always have hot sweaty flushes for a week or so after. It’s usually getting rid of the anaesthetic and also any pain relief given during surgery (for example I’ve had ketamine previously which really exasperated the symptoms)
