I hope you are all remaining upbeat! I’d like to hear about your experiences and thoughts on symptoms outside of bleeding, I would really appreciate it.
I’m 25 and I had my lap last May with extensive endometriosis. Since May 2019 until today, I’ve had 4/5 episodes of pain outside of menstruation and by comparison, the actual period has been relatively painless.
Issues include abdominal pain, vaginal pain, back pain, sweating, temperature changes, feeling sick and watery stools. I’ve also had a persistent UTI for about 3 weeks. During today’s episode, I was bleeding from the rectum and vagina. Has anyone else experienced this, especially rectal and vaginal bleeding outside of their period/bleed?
I’m concerned it may be something more sinister and not related to endometriosis at all. It’s a weird experience for me as when I do have pain it’s always during the period itself and never outside of it. All opinions/ advice are welcome.
Many thanks x

I definitely get pain outside of menstruation, and I think a lot of endo ladies do. I know you're probably expecting this response but I would encourage a visit to your doctor regarding the other symptoms you mentioned. All of us endo ladies are different, but I also think it's very easy to blame everything on the endo. I can definitely relate to the temperature changes and sweating, I used to get this a lot, but I haven't so much lately. I'd say the UTI and bleeding are worth a doctor's visit for sure though.
Thank you for your replying and sharing your experience. It’s really comforting to hear other ladies’ experiences and symptoms, feels very relatable.
I visited the doctor this week and they have agreed to some tests- a colonoscopy for the back passage and my gynae is scheduling an ultrasound. I have had rounds of medications for the UTI but it still hasn’t cleared up. My GP suggested endo on the bladder can attract bacteria hence the UTI, but as you mentioned also, it’s good to check other possible causes. I just really hope it is the endo as opposed to anything else.
Thank you for taking the time out to help me, I really appreciate it.
Sadly it sounds fairly normal. When things were at there worst I was only a week pain free which was the week after my period. I frequently bled from my bowel but I have a lot of bowel envolvment.
I would recommend seeing your specialist to discuss your symptoms.
Best wishes chick this condition is not fun and from my experience constantly changing 😪
Thank you for your reply and for sharing your thoughts.
Wow, I cannot believe that one could experience all that constant pain with endo! I was very shocked to see the bleeding during the bowel movement, just like you, my gynae previously mentioned a lot of endo on my bowel. It’s strangely nice to hear that someone has the same experience.
I’ve arranged doctor appts and will be going in for testing this month. Fingers crossed.
Thank you so much, best of luck to you also . Not fun at all, it is what is unfortunately. Glad there is this space to talk! (I don’t know anyone in my personal life who has endo, thank you for helping).
