Hi guys, so today I had my physio 12 weeks after my lap. After not being able to walk properly. Turns out I have scoliosis and pushing a disk that is trapping a nerve, has anyone else has this or similar with endo. Don’t know if there is a link or it’s a completely separate thing.
Thanks in advance x

Scoliosis and disc issues have nothing to do with endo. Endo though can cause back pain and intensify already existing issues. Did you start having problems with walking after the lap? In my case my whole leg was numb (like paralized) and I could not walk for weeks. The surgeon said that it had nothing to do with the laparoscopy but I strongly believe it had (nerve trauma or something). Fortunately the numbness has gradually subsided and now only my pinky toe is a little numb.
Oh my, yeh it’s not pleasant. Mine wasn’t numb but I put it down to endo pain even though for me wasn’t as bad. I could walk but with heavy limp it’s crazy isn’t it. Yep me too came after the Lap x
Then it could be because of the lap (nerves can be temporarily damaged during surgery). I mean you had scoliosis before and it didn't bother you that way. Give it some time, it will get better. In my case vitamin B helped. Feel better soon!!
Hi Hannah, I noticed your recent reply in the PCOS group and found this post!
Initially when I read this post my first question that came to mind was do you have PCOS? But having checked your prior posts I see that is the case too.
There is no good, or in honesty any, research around Scoliosis and PCOS but I have heard suggestions of a link. I know a girl with PCOS and Scoliosis as well and she mentioned of hearing of other women with both conditions, so a connection may lie there.
In terms of an explanation I can’t really give a brief or clear one but the link may be due to precocious onset of puberty (which is common in PCOS patients) if you experienced that at all? And possible knock-on effects on growth and development.
Not sure how helpful this is with regard to further action by I guess it’s always good to be in the know if u can be!
