Constant pain now is this normal with endometriosis...making me worry it's something more sinister

I've been having pain on and off for over a year but now it's constant. I get pain under my right rib, up the vagina towards the right and rectum pain. I don't get periods as on the depo. Is it normal to be in pain all the time with endometriosis? I tried so hard to get to the bottom of all this i.e doctors, ultrasound scans and waiting for a laparoscopy now. Ultrasound just showed left ovary stuck, right ovary close to pouch of Douglas and suspected adenomyosis. Also read on my file recto vaginal nodule found on previous laparoscopy but not removed that was 7 yrs ago as I wanted to concieve so they left it but I only found out that now. It's just a constant worry something bad is wrong with me and I don't know who else to go to for help as they will say wait for the laparoscopy

You can get Endo also in your upper body. I suggest you get a second opinion with a surgeon who does excision only. Find one with a good record that also looks into the upper body and does difficult surgery like on bowels. Adenomyosis is a different one and yes you can have constant pains from that, an MRI can show it. You might find a surgeon who is willing to do an operation on it but it's still underdeveloped compared to Endo (excision) surgery. Good luck...

Good luck. If your symptoms sound like Adeno but nothing shows up don’t worry as you still may have it. Nothing showed on my MRI and after my recent surgery they said my Adenomyosis is extensive. So you’d think that would show up on imaging really but it didn’t!

Re the constant pain - yes that is me, I am never not in pain, just different variations. It sounds like you have a lot going on yourself so I’m sure this will explain your pain and you shouldn’t worry about it being anything more sinister x

I have the same symptoms. I have recto-cervical endo that wasn’t removed during surgery because of the complications that would come with it. That was a year ago, and more recently Ive found I’m always in pain. Rectal pain is constant, and the pain just under my ribs In my side, going down my leg. I had an mri scan to see how much of the endo was back, I had cysts that came back and was told the constant pain is from the adhesions and cysts pressing on nerves, so there’s a lot of referred pain. Hope this gives you some ease knowing you’re not alone in all this!

Best wishes,

Aisha x

Yes it could be referred pain. I'm getting trouble with my breathing as well but not sure if that's to do with all this or another problem I got unrelated to endometriosis. They found this recto vaginal nodule 7yrs ago! But only just found out this so surely it's grown by now. Really hoping this MRI will give me some answers. Thanks for getting back to me
