I had a lap for endo removal at the beginning of April. Externally everything has healed and the swelling has gone down (4 inches worth of stomach swelling!). But I still don’t feel right - it’s like my insides hurt. The endo was attached to my bowels so it has to be removed. Has anyone got any experience with this? How long until you felt better?
Thanks
Annie 😊

I had an adhension on my bowel along with endo/adhesions in other places and the pain didn’t completely go until about 7/8 weeks post op - I was told it can take a few months for your insides to heal depending on how much you had removed but everyone is different so just be kind to yourself still and let your body finish healing 😊 x
Thank you! It’s been really worrying me 😬 I’ve never had anything like this done before and I probably didn’t ask enough questions 🙈 I’m just struggling with not being able to do things I used to find easy x
I was exactly the same! I got readmitted with an infection and that was when I asked all the basic questions that I didn’t ask originally (I was just so out of it and a bit in shock after I asked what caused the adhesions and got told ‘I don’t know’!) but it took me about 7 weeks before I could do normal things like carrying ‘heavy’ shopping or ‘heavy’ wash loads or walk my dog so don’t worry if there is stuff you can’t do yet still 😊 I don’t think they really prepare us for just how long the reocery will really be, at my pre-op I was told 3-5 days to then end up getting signed off work for 2 weeks!x
It all seemed like it happened so quickly for me. One minute I was fine, then I had endo on my bowels that was pulling it in the wrong direction, then I was home 🙈😂 I used to do weightlifting before this so I’m struggling with not being able to do that 😬 thank you though - it really has helped to put my mind at rest! X
It took me about 2 months before feeling really myself again and even longer to be better than I was before surgery. Be patient with yourself and your body although the surgery is minimally invasive, it is still a major surgery. Sending you healing vibes xx
