Pain after examination

Has anyone else had severe pain after an internal examination? I was examined yesterday (manual pelvic exam) and my pain is now excruciating - I would like to know if the pain will lessen over time. At least back to what it was before! It feels like the exam has just made my pain so so much worse. Hoping some of you could put me at ease with similar experiences as I’m worried this is not going to stop!

It was an endo consultant - he felt severe endometriosis throughout my pelvis. Glad to know it’s not just me!

Yes! Was in tears during pelvic exam and internal ultrasound. It took a couple of days to settle. Try hot water bottle, rest and use pain meds if you have them.

I posted almost identical post last year. The pain was horrendous! It did ease after a few days I promise. Lots of usual painkillers and hot water bottles.

I settle back to normal

Yes, any sort of penetration is agony for me, and the pain can last for ages. Hot water bottle between your legs, or even better, a hot bath - and painkillers. I hope it gets better soon!

Hi I had this too lasted 48 hours and had a sort of throbbing sensation to it. Turns out I had endo on uteral ligaments so when the ututrus was moved it didn't much like that! I hope your pain went away x
