Hey, did you have a Mirena IUD put in or anything? That can give brownish discharge. Did they give you any advice about what to expect? If you’re at all unsure, call the hospital or, if you can’t speak to someone there, see your GP. I had prolonged bleeding after my lap and went to see my GP. The GP phoned the endo team at the hospital for advice and helped me get sorted. Bottom line is, if you weren’t told to expect it, please see someone - it’s your health after all! It’s probably nothing to worry about, but you shouldn’t have to try and figure that out yourself.

Hope things work out x

Hiya thanks for the reply, no i didnt have morena coil fitted unless thet did it without telling me? Im on the mini pill and they couldnt find endo anyway.

I feel sick.and dizzy and not well and was thinking that with the discharge it might mean a infection.

Its really hard to know whats going on but i did see a dr yesterday and she did do a swab but thinks everything looks fine , dont get the results until friday ☹

Hopefully things will settle soon.

Xx

Oh I’m glad you saw a doctor - hope the results come back clear. Take good care and hope you feel better soon. It’s only a week after your op and it does take time to settle down. I was off work for three weeks after my laparoscopy!

I had a lap a couple of days ago and have had some discharge that sounds similar. I was told that it's normal to have that for a few days following the op, so I'm assuming it's relatively normal

I had discharge /spotting that lasted a week.. it was all different colors . It’s now just pale pink spotting so seems to be resolving now. I’ve read some people spotted until they got their period. Hope that helps.

It's natural; spotting from your lap, some women get it the same day, some women have it a bit later. The spotting on the same day is usually because everythings been pushed around in there a lot - the uterus doesn't like that. The spotting a week later is the uterus healing from the lap shedding the horrible stuff.

Keep an eye on it; if it gets worse, doesn't go away, smells really off, or you have a temp, go to A&E as that could be an infection. It should clear up in a few days if all else is well

Bear in mind laps can also bring on a period early or make them later as the body kinda goes into shock.

Hope that helps xx
