So it happened I got a cancellation for a hysterectomy on Friday past. Over the moon wouldn’t describe how I felt. So full hysterectomy and removal of ovaries and also removal of any endometrial tissue or scaring. They said there was significant pockets of endometrial tissue in pelvis and also on ligaments holding womb in place. I got discharged after 36 hrs and have been resting at home. As it was only a lap. I’m hoping recovery will be easier. I start my hrt tomorrow and am keeping a positive head on the wks In front of me. I know it seems drastic but the pain of endo consumes u and drains the life from you. I just hope these next few months helps to get me back the life I once had.

That's great. The thought of the future will get you through the uncomfortable days.
U r very brave. I had the hyst but ovaries left 2 yrs ago. Now am waiting for op to have ovaries out! Hope the recovery goes well. Let me know how menopause symptoms affect you, have heard surgical menopause worse than natural, I am worried about that. I just think menopause cant be as bad as endo pain can it. Good luck and take it very easy x
I hope you heal well. I had similar op (open procedure due to the excision surgery needed on my bowel) in December 2018. I felt better than before my op within a couple of weeks even with all of the stitches etc! Best decision and still improving every week now. The HRT needed a bit of testing before they were happy with my levels in blood tests, but all good now and practically no menopausal symptoms throughout. Good luck with everything.
