Hey, no but I was given norttiptyline which I think is fairly similar. Both of these alter the way the brain receives pain messages through the nervous system in small doses they are used for pain in high they are used for depression hope this helps x

Thank you so much. He's put me on 25mg' of it and it does seem to be helping just worried me as he led with "they are antidepressants but..." Just makes you worry. Thanks again xx

I was prescribed them for back pain, as the doc said "it's just stuff to deal with". I tried it, only one though, and immediately it didn't agree with me, felt so odd, like I wasn't me, like I'm just looking down at me, felt so out of it, didn't even help me drift off! Plus you can't drive with them. And it didn't kick the pain. I don't like just taking tablets anyway; if your body is in pain then something isn't right and it needs looking at not just blocking it with painkillers - my opinion.

Have you looked into physio for your pain?

I know it sounds weird but I have hip, leg, back pain too, and went to a physio whom specialises in mobility, movement, sports and surgery recovery. When I talked to them they said it's due to the endo causing inflammation in all those areas which over time restricts movement as those areas become tight. It can also be because endo, much like bloating, pregnancy, can cause the abdomen and core muscles to weaken which means our back tightens to compensate causing all kinds of pain from the nerves and muscles in the surrounding area (hip, legs, back, thighs, shoulders, neck). We need to exercise those specific core muscles and work on re-learning how to use them to take the pressure off our back plus massaging the tightened areas.

I'd definitely recommend a specialist physio. Mine massages and moves my hips, lower back and coccyx, then gives me take home exercises to do which are helping reduce the pain and increase mobility. I wish I'd gone about two years ago!

Happy to answer any questions; docs don't seem to be clued in about how physio can help, they seem to just push pills at us.

It can take some time to sort as we've been living with these aches and pains for ages even years for some women.

xx

Took these for a few months, helped me sleep but not much for pain. Stopped and now take valerian for natural sleep remedy. Nothing works for pain for me, cant take codeine and a few other pain relief meds as make me sick.

I'm taking amitriptyline, but for sexual pain - it's had a small effect so far, but I've only been on it a few months and I was told it would take a long time to fully take effect
