I was diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis about 15 years ago. I've had two surgeries. Last one six years ago was quite extensive and went straight on to prostap after it. I've spent last few months praying to get a period and was starting to panic. Consultant took some bloods two and half weeks ago.... and as if my body was tricking me..... I got my period a few days later. Was only a day or two long and light for me with no pain which was lovely! I'm not expecting it to stay like this but I am ttc and my cycles used to be every 23 days. So going off that I was expecting to ovulate this weekend. I've used ovulation predictor tests each day the last few days and all negative.
What's everyone's experience with their cycles after prostap. Did you go back to your normal cycle length? I was on it quite a while compared to others so I wasn't surprised it took so long. But I'm 36 with no children and desperate to fall pregnant. Thank you for any advice or help

hi. Hope you're ok. I was on prostap for 6 months so not nearly as long. It took my cycles 10 weeks to return ; they said anything from 10 to 16 weeks was usual and like you my first period was only 2/3 days and very light. After that it settled down to every 30/32 days and was 4/5 days and fairly pain free. I tried ovulation tests but they didn't really help. Due to the extent of my endometriosis we had a cycle of ivf in Nov and got our little miracle in the oven at the moment. Do you use the Endo diet? Might help whilst you're body gets back into the rhythm of what its doing. Good luck. Xx
Thank you for replying. Congratulations on your little one. Were your cycles 30 to 32 days prior to the prostap? I just dont know what to guess as to how long.my first one will be so cant predict ovulation. OH works away so only really get to try once a week. No i haven't tried the diet, is that detailed on here or should I just search for it? X
hi.hope you're ok. My cycles were 28 days without fail, always painful but my gp was very dismissive of that. We had our daughter with no issues in 2011 ( the endometriosis specialist was baffled by how we'd managed it!) and after that they were all over the place, anything from 22 - 42 days, some I coped with others were awfully painful. They settled after the prostap and the ivf was surprisingly hassle free. The Endo diet I followed was from a book called the endometriosis diet through nutrition and something to do with fertility ( sorry on holiday and can't remember the exact title).it was really helpful, made so much sense with foods that make it worse like orange juice. Look after yourself and good luck 😊. Xx
