First Lap after Prostap Injections.

Hey guys,

I'm due my first Lap on Friday 13th August and I'm a little worried they won't find anything as I had been on Prostap for 6 months (2x the 3 monthly injections).

I came off this in May, I had a period 2 days afterwards but nothing since - not a flare up which I usually get the week before a period or a period either. I have had twinges of pain but nothing compared to the usual flare up.

I just wondered if anyone has gone to a Lap without having a period or flare up after prostap injections?

I'm so worried as I've waited over a year for this Op and don't want to come away with no answers.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated, thank you 😊

Hi Emily_Rose97, I had surgery in October last year and had been on prostap for 10 months without a break before the surgery. They still found and treated extensive endometriosis. I had had a diagnostic lap before being put on the injection.

Good luck and feel free to ask any questions.

Thank you AtomicHair , that puts my mind at ease a bit now, so thank you! 😊 I haven't been officially diagnosed yet but I've been on the prostap injection twice - January 2020 as a trial for 3 months to see if it helped symptoms, which it did. Then again from November 2020 till May 2021. I've seen a significant improvement in symptoms but I'm just worried I won't get the answers I want because of not having a flare up since being on the injection. But we will see.

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. 😊

I also felt a benefit from the injections and had the same concerns. If they are working does that mean the endo will be less visible etc, but didn't appear to be an issue. Apparently my surgeons preference is that women go on them for at least 3 months prior to surgery. Good luck with your lap.

Thank you, I was told it shrinks it but I don't know what to believe anymore. I find with trying to be diagnosed with this you get told so many different things, I'm not sure what is true and what isn't. Thank you for your well wishes and replies, they have really helped.

I know exactly how you feel.Give me a shout if you want to know anything else, obviously I can only talk about my experience, but happy to do so if it any help. Getting diagnosed can be quite overwhelming. X
