Prostap 3 after effects?

Hi everyone.

I received my 1st Prostap injection yesterday afternoon, I have woken up today and feel like I’ve been hit by a train, feel like I have the flu, my nose is steaming, head is splitting, I’m burning hot and feel so weak and achy. Just wondering if this is normal to feel like this initially injections? Thank you in advance for any help xxx

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. Sounds like you need a Covid test! It takes time for the first injection to work, days, and weeks to get the full effect. I don’t think you should be feeling any different just from Prostap within the first 24 hours except for a sore arm. xx

Hi Wanwood,

Thankyou so much for your reply, I am a care worker so I have access to tests at home, this was the 1st thing I did to which it was negative 😊 I’ll see how I get in over the next few days and if I still feel rubbish I will contact GP. Maybe it’s just a coincidence. Hope your well xx

Ah, good news you tested negative! I hope you feel better soon! Hopefully it is just a coincidence, but bodies are strange and everyone is different xx

Hey hun I start prostrap3 for the first time last week felt I felt awful the day after and have felt up and down ever since. Curious to know if your symptoms settled down? I did start my period the morning I had prostrap so I don’t know if my symptoms are a bad flare up or just prostrap or a combination of the 2?! Thanks x

Hey, yea the flu like symptoms did settle down after a couple of days... since then I have just felt pretty groggy and tired a lot. This last week the night sweats have started and I’ve had a small bleed. I have Mirena coil in place so don’t usually bleed. I’ve felt pretty low since January so it’s hard to tell if some of the symptoms I’m experiencing are because of the injection or because of my low mood In general due to being in pain every day. I’m still experiencing my Endo pain and cramping at the moment but I just keep telling myself to give it time. Things are happening and hopefully after time I will begin to see the pain decreasing. I hope you start to feel brighter soon, feel free to chat to me and update me on how your feeling, I have everything crossed for you xxx

So glad to hear that you're feeling better - albeit a little! I can totally relate on the low mood I'm experiencing the same it's very taxing physically and mentally isn't it. I hope things to continue to ease for you and ditto to you too please feel free to drop me a message if you'd like to talk even if it's for a moan sometimes because we're all in this together and understand one another. Lots of love xxxx

Yea I felt awful the 1st couple of days after it but I couldn’t find anything about anyone else saying the same but it did pass... it’s so hard to understand what effect is coming from what whether it’s the injection or the low mood/anxiety, I’m just glad to have started the Prostap now and hoping it helps then I can get myself down for a hysterectomy. I worry as my bowel is now stuck to my uterus so there’s a good chance I will end up with a colostomy bag if they damage my bowel in the process but I’m just trying to think positive that it won’t happen and all will be well in the end. It’s a long road for so many of us ladies and your right were in this together. It’s so nice to speak to people who understand the carnage this can cause to a person and who they are. Although I have amazing family and friends around me and a supportive boss, I just can’t help but know deep down that they don’t know how it really feels to fight yourselfand your own body every single day. Definitely pop you a message and keep upto date with your progress ❤️ Xxx

I feel like this every time I have the injection, but I’m now on HRT patches plus a mirena coil and that has gotten rid of feeling flu like and I don’t feel as tired as I did when I started.

Take care of yourself and lots of rest, your body will come through it soon! Have you got HRT?

Hey, thank you for that, I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels flu like after it. I already have the Mirena coil have done for 5 years now but no HRT. I’m due for my 2nd Prostap in about 6 weeks so I will defo mention it to my consultant when I next see him 🙂 xxx

It took me ages to realise the flu feeling was the prostap, it was on and off so I thought I was getting poorly every week 🤦🏻‍♀️

I would 100% ask for a oestrogen only HRT patch, it has made such a difference and is a fab combo with the coil xxx
