I’m 25 years old and was diagnosed with endometriosis 8 years ago. I’ve had 3 surgeries already and after my last one in 2017 I was told I also have uterine fibroids. I deal with ovarian cyst, heavy irregular periods, lots of blood clotting, and I’m in pain all the time. Usually my lower back, stomach, hips and legs. The pain also causes my legs and feet to swell. Sometimes the pain can be crippling and causes me to miss work and school. Recently I’ve also been experiencing a brown blood like discharge in between my periods. Is this from the fibroids or a new symptom of my endometriosis? I also have an autoimmune disease that keeps me from being able to take any type of hormone medication as well as NSAIDs like Motrin and naproxen. I seriously want a hysterectomy, but because of my age my GYN won’t do it. Is there anything I can do to alleviate the pain and swelling? Any type of diet I should follow or exercises I can do? I appreciate any and all suggestions.

It’s a horrible thing to go through. I suffer almost everyday, if it’s not my back it’s hip. I can’t remember the last day I didn’t have pain. I’ve started missing 2 days a month from work now when I get my period and it’s at it’s worse. My ankles swell after work but I put that down to being on my feet all day.
The brown discharge is old blood and with me it’s just as painful as a proper period. Is that how it feels with you?
My diet now is gluten free and I found that helped with the swelling of stomach and stops the cramping that isn’t related to period. I’m going to start light swimming again and maybe try yoga. Maybe you should try that. I think with our condition and the pain it almost makes us hold ourselves awkward to try and avoid the pain. That then may tighten up our muscles, so I think doing light exercises might help. Don’t get me wrong there is no way I could go running again 😔
Hope you find some relief xx
Thank you so much for replying! That’s exactly what it feels like. It’s like I’m always on my period. Always hurting and tired. It really sucks. I will have to do some research on a gluten free diet, I don’t know much about it. But I’m willing to try anything at this point. I’ll always try yoga to see if it helps. Thanks again!
Sounds awful what ur going thru.
Maybe you could try the endo diet - it's specifically tailored for those who suffer from endometriosis. I've put the link at the end of my reply.
I found diet and exercise made a huge difference to my endo pain. I totally cut out processed food and gluten. And starting exercising regularly. It made such a difference. I hope this helps xx

I forgot to mention I also used natural remedies for pain relief. Mainly turmeric and black seed oil. Turmeric is a natural anti inflammatory so that def helped. And black seed oil has hundreds of nutrients in! I take about 1/4 tsp of each in 1/3 glass of Luke warm water and add a teaspoon of honey to it as it also has healing properties. Also Adding a tinny bit of black pepper helps release the curcumin in the turmeric which helps with healing inflammation and pain. I take it first thing in the morning and it's worked wonders.
