10 years and still waiting for answers

I started my periods when I was 10, and I was hospitalised a few months before my first period as I was having extremely bad pain in my stomach and pelvic area.

Since then it hasn't gotten any better. For the past 10 years I've been in constant pain. I have extremely heavy periods, I often have to change my pad up to 10 times a day and I always seem to leak. I also have go spend most of my period in bed because I can't move from the pain.

I also get very bad abdominal pains, and it gets to the point where I can't eat because of it.

Although I haven't yet been diagnosed with endometriosis, my doctor suspects I have it and I am now waiting for internal scans.

I was just wondering if anyone with endometriosis experiences these abdominal pains and how they manage them?

Thank you x

I don't think they can diagnose endometriosis from an internal scan I believe you would have to have diagnostic laparoscopy which I had in 2014 then again in 2016 I have stage 4endo with liver lesions bowel and bladder. Xx

Hope all go's well. 😘

Hi Katie, sorry for all this pain you're having.

I am facing the same situation as yours since my teen years.

It's been now 15 years of pain and waiting for the date of my diagnostic laparoscopy.

I try to cope with pain by using heating pads, pain killers and resting.

I agree with Mitch about that the absolute way to diagnose endometriosis is by laparoscopy.

I hope this helps and may you find relief and feel better soon.

Best wishes xx

The heavy bleeding could also be from adenomyosis - your symptoms sound very much like mine and I have both endo and adeno, but they didn't find the adeno for another 7 years - it might be worth asking for an MRI so you can know what you are dealing with asap. Tranexamic helped me with the bleeding side. Good luck xxx
