Hi

Im due to have my Marina coil removed and replaced this week.

Referred to the hospital due to my gp unable to find the strings.

Can anyone give me idea on what the procedure is?

This happened to me when I was trying to conceive. At clinic they did the exact same thing as my GP but with a lot of padding to tilt the pelvis more. They were able to see the tips of the stings and used a pair of long forceps to pull the coil out. It was uncomfortable but not painful.

With my new coil since having my baby, I had a hysteroscopy with treatment and couldn't find my strings. Got sent for position confirmation via an USS and found it was in the correct place. I now have to have yearly USS scans to confirm position of this one.
