Hi guys

Firstly, sorry TMI but I've noticed over the past year that using tampons makes me bloat really really badly.

I used to have regular periods, but they decreased to the point sometimes I couldn't even use a tampon as they were so light. Now, 3 months after my lap my periods have gone back to normal (my normal anyway) and there's enough to use a tampon but when I do I end up in a lot of pain from bloating, and I even use the smallest kind. I've had to switch to pads lately just for comfort but I hate them.

I'm awaiting my follow up appointment from my lap, but I know from my brief conversation with my gyn consultant (as I was coming round from anaesthetic) that I have adhesions. Just wondering if the discomfort could be related to adhesions on my bowel or something. Anyone else have similar experiences?

I've not had much experience with bloating with tampons but if you're finding pads really uncomfortable I'd recommend period pants! It's a strange concept but they're super absorbent (the ones I have handled a whole night on my heaviest flow no issues) and so much nicer than pads as they're made of a softer material and it's a lot more difficult to leak as there's a lot more of the absorbent surface. The ones I use are WUKA but there are loads of different brands you could try! Best of luck with everything xx

Thanks! Wow, how weird about your appendix! I know what you mean about having to take them out immediately and the burning sensation, I get a similar thing. I think I will stick to comfort from now on. I'm looking forward to my gyn appointment to find out more info about my adhesions, but I get the feeling I might not learn much because it hasn't been too informative so far. The gyn keeps trying to get me to have the coil, but I'm on the pill atm and would rather stick with that xx

It's crazy that organs can stick to things. Bodies are weird. I had a lap 7 years ago and they didn't explain properly that I had endo and now 7 years on with no treatments it's back with a vengeance :/ xx

Oh no! Bless you! That’s so terrible!

Are you due another lap soon?

I know I didn’t expect to have adhesions not sticking my bowel and stomach to my uterus! But they where kind of made me feel funny when my Gynae came up to see me after surgery! It’s horrid isn’t it

I hope they help you and can get you some relief we shouldn’t have to suffer the way that we do xx
