Hi Hun, I always used to find it very painfull, but pads would rub on the outside and make me bleed, so I put up with it.

Thank you, it's fine once it's in but have noticed it hurts as I'm applying it, I really need to use them especially at night, I can't sleep otherwise because of fear of leaking! I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse X

I think my problem was that my bowel was badly stuck to uterus.

Had TAH, BSO and excision in March so don't have periods any more.

Really, that kind of makes sense to me then because all my pain is mostly in my bottom, I've had an ultrasound and I've got a blood test tomorrow and then my gp is going to refer me to a gynaecologist so hopefully I will find out for sure what's going on soon, my gp is pretty sure I have endo, well he said ectopic lining of the womb!

Hi Hun, you need to get a referral to a BSGE centre, especially if you suspect there could be any chance of endo being near or on bowel. A general gynaecologist isn't qualified to deal with this and they also tend to miss endo, or don't recognise all presentations of it.

Be aware that endo very rarely shows up on us unless it is very deep and nodular or you have a endometrioma.

Hope you find some answers.

Thank you I will mention it to my gp, the pain in my bottom is excruciating, I've just taken solpadol and literally feel drunk! So I try not to take them as I'm a teaching assistant so don't want to feel drunk at work! It didn't show up on my us only fibroids but gp has been really good, he said straight away that he would refer me after scan and blood test X

Did you have any problem with scar tissue/adhesions?

Sorry I'm about eight weeks post TAH and BSO and am starting to get pain and getting freaked out since it took so long to even get that done.

Hi yes, it actually took surgeon an hour cutting through adhesions to find uterus.

Unfortunately I think some has been missed as I'm still getting pain in lower back, lower abdomen and bladder. Due to go for follow up on 4th August.

I've always had discomfort inserting them but had to eventually stop as too painful and uncomfortable so just use pads now

Jojo-burkitt profile image
Jojo-burkitt in reply toTryx

Oh no, so it could well get worse for me then, I don't feel secure enough with just a pad, I've always had to use both

It may not hun so I wouldn't worry too much about that but definitely get checked out. Hope things get sorted soon x

😟 I don't understand why the pain is worse come dinner time! It's a good thing in a way because it means I can get through work but it does seem strange to me

it's because our bodies don't want us to have any work /life balance! But really, I think it hits when we finally have time to relax and wind down.

sometimes I can tolerate them but sometimes I absolutely cant! I can only use small ones too. Sanitary towels make me sore so I only use them if I absolutely have to! I dont always bleed properly itd be a bit much to go into all that but basically because of that sometimes I can get away with pantiliners which I dont find uncomfortable x

I've always had to use both since a teenager, oh the joys of being female! X

The pain being worse at home is I think partly down to distraction at work and also my pain increases throughout the day because the muscles get stretched about

Yes my last job was a job working nights and towards the end of my shift I'd be hiding somewhere in agony!

I use menstrual cups as the tampons hurt too much and the pads give me a rash

Jojo-burkitt profile image

I've heard of those, need to look into them more, I'm not sure if I'd like being at work with one!

I thought I was the only one!

I've been using tampons for 5 years, and just a few months ago after I reacted to the nuvaring I can't wear them anymore.

I didn't get pain as such only if I wasn't heavy enough but I found it would give me thrush so I swapped to mooncups and they're a lot better, hold more blood and can stay up there for up to 12 hours. Plus you can just wash and reuse :-)

I've never been able to get them in without discomfort so have never tried to use them since I was a teen. Maybe you should give pads a go for a night when you're on your own so you can convince yourself it's not that scary :) . Plus if it helps I seem to wake up more often than not before anything happens so then I'm off to the bathroom x

I stopped using them they became really uncomfortable and yes painful to put in x

I never use them anymore because they are too painful.

I even had to start using organic pads because normal pads seemed to make the pain worse.

I use pads called 'natracare ' I got them from waitrose. They arnt much more expensive but they do seem to be more comfortable.

The only issue is I have to change the pad really often which can sometimes be a pain.

I'd definitely recommend organic sanitary products.
