Op tomorrow.

My gyno thinks I've both endo and polycystic ovaries. So I'm having my first lap tomorrow and he's flushing my tubes out too as I don't show any signs of ovulation and I'm terrified! The only op I've had is my tonsils taken out when I was 7 and all I remember is waking up and being violently sick everywhere.

Whats everyone's thoughts on what's it's like when then knock you out and coming back round?

Hello, I was petrified about being put to sleep and the whole waking up part. Everyone reassured me and kept explaining to me how it worked.

I had to walk to theatre which was just horrible. I walked into the anaesthetist room and got on the bed and told them I was nervous. My heart was beating really fast and the anaesthetist refused to carry in until I calmed down. I did calm down but my heart was still racing. He told me I’d feel a bit whoozy as if I’ve had a bit to drink. I remember my vision going blurry and I kept licking my lips and kept talking to him and the next thing I hear someone say my name and it was the nurse in recovery. I honestly thought I hadn’t had any surgery done. First thing I did was had a peak and then asked for a drink. It was flavoured water which really confused me as I was like “am I dreaming or does this water taste amazing?” I felt so alert and awake. I assumed I’d be out of it still or really hypo but I was just calm and chilled. I thought it would be weird as I was in theatre for about an hour but it was like not even 5 seconds had passed by.

I wasn’t sick nor did I feel sick but we all react differently to anaesthetic. The anaesthetist saw me on the morning before surgery and asked me if I had it before and if so how did I react to it etc... so if I were you, mention exactly what you remember. Tell them your fears and all of your worries. Don’t bottle them up.

I’m due for more surgery soon and again I’m petrified of the going to sleep part again. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have a tachycardia issue which is why my heart was racing so much so that worries me a bit.

I had my tubes flushed too. Some dye came out with my wee which freaked me out a bit, I forgot all about it until I saw it.

I wish you all the very best. I promise it’s worse in your mind than the real thing. I will remember to tell that to myself next time too 👍🏼

Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Everything went well! Removed some cysts but he couldn't find any endo.

I'm fully recovered from the op and the pains still there. So I'm at a lost on what to do now! The gyno has discharged me x
