Hi guys, I'm new here and I don't know if you guys can help. I had an op in the summer, confirming I do have endometriosis on my left side, bowels and bladder. So amazing to finally have a diagnosis after years of suffering. However, the other night I woke up with extreme, unexplainable, severe, stabbing pain on my lower right hand side which sent shocks all throughout my pelvis. It lasted half an hour, to the point where I was screaming. I went to the doc yesterday and he shrugged it off as a freak incident, but it didn't feel normal. I didn't have endometriosis on my right hand side when the operation happened, but could it have developed there since the summer or be ovarian cysts? Is it a pain people have had before, as I started my period yesterday evening. Would love to hear if anyone else has experienced the same thing to know its linked!

Freak Pain on Right Hand Side
Hi, it does sound like cysts on ovary to me. When you say the pain lasted half an hour that was the same with mine. I have never heard of having endo on just one side before so I suspect you have it on both. I would ask to see the gyno and get a scan done. Hope you are better soon xx
Thanks for this! If I didn't have any cysts in the summer when I had my laparoscopy could one have developed so quickly?
I am no expert but I would say so yeah. They develop during ovulation I think. It will probably only be a small one. I think mine came up with in weeks and only a few months before the pain got too bad. I just had keyhole surgery in and out in the same day and felt fine after that xx
I have had excruciating pain on and off in my right hand side which they thought was appendicitis.
I have 1 cyst.
It’s not normal to be in that level of pain.
Stick to your guns as the saying goes and go back to your GP, change GP if you need to. It’s you that’s in pain, nobody else and it’s your right to know what’s going on with your body 💕x
The doctor yesterday said its either a warning sign from my appendix or an ovarian cyst. He just said the most bazaar thing was that the pain completely disappeared, so couldn't work it out and sent me home. I called up my gynaecologist and am having a scan next week fingers crossed I get an answer! xx
That’s great you are having a scan and quick too, let us know how you get on. Hope you don’t suffer with anymore of that pain. It’s awful 😪
I had the same thing but had ignored the infrequent quick stabbing pains i got on that side over the last year.
I've also had one previous surgery with endo removed but no cysts.
Ended up having the same pains you describe now, one sided and very often, pulling sensation too.
Ultrasound has shown a 5.6cm endometrioma cyst on my ovary so i'd say yours sounds similar!
That sounds nasty! Have you had to get it removed?
Just had my ultrasound this evening - got a cyst! He's giving it a month to reduce and then he'll remove it.. also discovered my pill is still making me ovulate, so is literally doing nothing. just so frustrated...
