Post anaesthetic recovery

Hey everyone, I've got my second laparoscopy next week including excision of my endo as long as it's not fused too much to my bowel (in which case I'll have a 3rd op with a second surgeon present). Last time I really struggled with the anaesthetic as was sick even with just water and felt dizzy for days. Any suggestions for things that help with sickness and dizzyness from anaesthetic and general post excision recovery as I've not had that done before? Feeling nervous! Thank you x

Hello you can ask for an anti sickness tablet once you get to the hospital ;) that should stop you being sick x

The hospital can give you anti sickness tablets before your op and after. I had one before.

Docs can prescribe you omazeprole - this protects your stomach while you're on painkillers. I have this when I have ibuprofen so I don't get dizzy and sicky.

Aromatherapy helps wonders. Get an aromatherapy diffuser (amazon) and some aromatherapy oils - best for nausea - lavender and chamomile.

Peppermint capsules (health shops or amazon) are good for trapped gas and general sicky-ness. Just don't chew the liquid ones lol!

Chopped ginger in syrup (dried fruit / baking section of supermarket) - teaspoon in hot water, and sip works for nausea - soooo much better than just water.

All tried and tested :)

Hope those help xx
