Laparoscopy is keyhole surgery through 1 to 5 incisions on the abdomen where the instruments and camera are inserted to look inside the abdomen including organs and structures. In the case of endo, most operations are performed this way. This is only performed when under general anaesthetic

Hysteroscopy is where the instruments are inserted via the vagina and through the cervix to the uterus to look at the vaginal walls, cervix, uterus and tubes. It can be used to take biopsies and asses the health of parts there. This can be under local or general anaesthetic. It can be done at the same time as a lap.

Hope that helps x
