When admitted what do you give consent for them to do?

Re laparoscopy, depending on what they find when they carry out the procedure.

Do they ask you to consent to things like a hysterectomy, coil etc......?

I had my first lap yesterday and I consented to treatment of endo if found (which they did with the burning instrument) and fitting of Mirena coil (also done with hysteroscopy). It all went well.

I had my lap this week and yes they will discuss and get you to sign agreement on what you want to consent to. I had coil fitted and said do whatever you need to just dont remove my ovaries no matter what. I didn't feel i would be mentally prepared this time round if they did and doc respected that. Feel very fortunate that ovaries were ok, have go for more tests now to see how deep endo of bowel is before more surgery. Hope it all goes ok x

Hey! I had my lap on Monday and I had to sign all sorts of consent forms such a having the coil fitted (which I declined) and also permission to remove any endo they could. Glad I didn’t have the coil because I’ve been so uncomfortable since the lap I don’t think I could have handled that as well! Xx

Like you I won’t be having the coil, heard that many horror stories and don’t want anything in my body which can give me issues. Hope recovery is going well x
