Can endometriosis cause bladder irritation / frequent urination without being located on your bladder? I had issues before my last op which had gone away since but I’ve had an endo flare up for the past 6 weeks or so and I’m getting some bladder irritation again? Feel like I’m going mad at this point!

Yes, especially when my heavy Endo related periods were due used to be very sensitive down there particularly one year when we decided to walk Hadrian's wall. I had to give up half way and visit a doctor as I had cystitis could not get comfortable so slept on the floor. Was told I need to keep that area cooler but how do you do that when you are flooding(sorry for the graphics)it was the padding that was actually making things worse
My consultant has requested a bladder scan for me as my endo nodule is really close to the ureters and he said it may irritate my bladder. I do get pain if I have a very full bladder or if I hold it too long then I go. I also get episodes of frequency which feels a bit like a urine infection but not.
Currently under investigation for this, not irritation but going frequently, last night I got up 5 times!! No infection so currently waiting for a scan. Know how you feel! X
I also had frequent urination and a horrible uncomfortable feeling all the time. When I had my lap they found my urethra was attached to my side wall with endo. Since my op its been much better although a year and a half later I can feel the odd symptom returning here and there.
I get a lot of bladder issues too especially after my period, i seem to get what feels like cystitis/uti. My GP said he believed my bladder must be irritated by the endo.. I wake up several times a night to pee which causes me sleep issues too.. I have to wear sensitive bladder pads around this time too.. Glad I'm not the only one who's bladder is an issue.
I have no bladder endo I have uterosacral ligaments and pouch of Douglas endo, however I urinate sooo frequently and at certain times of the month I can go up to 20 times a day just by drinking a few cups of water :/ I think it may be the bc pill I’m taking too I don’t urinate as often when I’m off the pill but it’s deffo endo related . After my first lap I didn’t have this problem for 8 months xxx
Hello Turnoutlovely. Oh DEFINITELY yes! 😮 It can be embarrassing having to rush off to the restroom suddenly when out in public. I am not a doctor but, heard that one of my ancestors would drink a glass of water with a half teaspoon of baking soda mixed in once a day to stop that urge to urinate. I have been doing it for about two years and it works well for me. 😀 Should you decide to try it, please check with your doctor first. I pray that you feel better soon. 😊
I too have this problem but they never found any endo down there. Only in my pouch of douglas. I try to drink plenty of water and lay off caffiene completely which helps a lot. It can be insufferable, especially when you can't sleep through the night. You have my empathy.
